Aryan Khan case: Mumbai court disposes of NCB plea against independent witness

A special court in Mumbai disposed of an application filed by Narcotics Control Bureau, in which it had sought to pass directions against interference in the drugs-on-cruise case in which Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan is an accused.

The special court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances to refused to bar cognizance of the affidavit filed by Prabhakar Sail, who is one of the witnesses in the cruise ship drug bust case. Sail had claimed that he was made to sign blank sheets on the day of the raid on October 2.

Sameer Wankhede, the Mumbai Zonal Director of the NCB, had earlier filed an application at the special court alleging that pressure is being exerted on him, including a “lurking threat of arrest”, for the agency’s probe in the cruise ship drug bust case in which 20 persons, including Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, have been arrested.

Another application was also filed on behalf of the NCB’s Superintendent, who is one of the investigating officers of the case, alleging tampering of the probe.

Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil meanwhile said police protection has been given to Sail, who has also claimed Rs 25 crore was demanded by an NCB official and other persons to let off Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan in the case.
