An editorji poll across several social media platforms has shown that users have embraced saree as appropriate attire for visits to restaurants or clubs.

Delhi’s Aquila club has created an uproar on social media for allegedly not allowing entry to a woman for wearing a saree.

A woman alleged that the staff at the Aquila denied her entry because she was draped in a saree which they said was not a smart-casual

Social media users have slammed the bizarre dress code and the elitist policy.

An editorji poll across several social media platforms has shown that users have embraced saree as appropriate attire for visits to restaurants or clubs. Social media users have passed the verdict. Saree does fall under the smart casual category after all.

82.9% of the Twitter respondents voted in favour of the saree, while while only 17.1% said they would wear something else while visiting a restaurant.

Similar sentiment has been echoed on LinkedIn where 80% gave a thumbs up to the saree, while 20% opted for a different attire.

On Instagram too majority of users have said saree is an appropriate attire to step out in for restaurant and club visits .
