Another Pitbull attack: 9-yr-old severely injured after stray dog attacks him in Meerut

A nine-year-old boy was severely injured after a stray Pitbull dog attacked him in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut.

The child sustained injuries to his face, stomach and thigh with flesh scraped off from several parts of his body.

The latest attack comes after a spate of similar attacks since last year.

In August 2022, a domestic help in Haryana's Gurugram was attacked by a pet Pitbull dog. She had received critical injuries on her head and face.

A month later in September, an elderly woman was attacked by a pet American Pitbull Terrier in Lucknow. The 82-year-old woman later succumbed to her injuries.

Again in September 2022, an 11-year-old boy was attacked by a pet Pitbull in Ghaziabad. The boy received 150 stitches on his face.

In a more recent attack, a 55-year-old woman was attacked by a pet Pitbull in Haryana's Faridabad. The woman received severe injuries on her right leg in early May and was treated at Safdarjung Hospital.
