Amit Shah Vows to Eradicate Naxal Threat Completely by 2026

New Delhi, Sep 3 (PTI) — Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that the Modi government is resolute in its mission to address the Naxal issue until all insurgents surrender, are apprehended, or are neutralized.

During a ceremony honoring the brave efforts of the CRPF, Chhattisgarh Police, District Reserve Guard (DRG), and CoBRA forces in the successful 'Operation Black Forest' on Karregutta hill in Chhattisgarh, Shah underscored the government's unwavering commitment, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, to rid the nation of the Naxal threat.

"The Modi government will not rest until all Naxalites surrender, are caught, or eliminated," Shah firmly stated.

He commended the valor shown by the security personnel during the operation, noting it will be etched as a significant chapter in anti-Naxal endeavors.

Shah highlighted the strategic challenges faced, such as harsh conditions, altitude difficulties, and the ominous threat of IEDs, all of which were admirably overcome by the forces, leading to the dismantling of a major Naxal base camp.

The operation also marked the strategic demolition of crucial Naxal logistics on Karregutta hill, executed by the Chhattisgarh Police, CRPF, DRG, and CoBRA, Shah added.

Shah emphasized the detrimental impact Naxals have imposed on some of India's most underdeveloped areas, disrupting essential services like schools and hospitals, and impeding governmental welfare programs.

He highlighted that continuous anti-Naxal efforts have brought a "new sunrise" affecting the lives of over 65 million people in the broad geographic swath from Pashupatinath to Tirupati.

Shah reassured that significant measures are in place to support the security forces injured due to anti-Naxal operations, aiming to improve their quality of life.

The government's strategy aims to eradicate Naxalism completely by March 31, 2026, he affirmed.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were also in attendance during the occasion.
