Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Prayagraj on Monday to participate in the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela. Shah took a holy dip at the sacred Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, accompanied by Baba Ramdev and other saints.

Upon his arrival, Shah received a warm welcome from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his cabinet members. Sharing his experience on X, Shah described the Maha Kumbh as a "unique symbol of Sanatan culture" and praised it for showcasing the life philosophy of Sanatan Dharma, rooted in harmony and unity.

Shah's itinerary included a visit to the Bade Hanuman temple and Abhayvat, followed by a meeting and lunch with sages at Juna Akhara. He also met with Guru Sharananand Ji and Govind Giri Ji Maharaj at Guru Sharananand Ji’s Ashram. Additionally, Shah engaged in discussions with the Shankaracharyas of Sringeri, Puri, and Dwaraka before concluding his visit and returning to Delhi in the evening.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13 with Paush Purnima, has already drawn over 110 million devotees, who have taken sacred baths at Prayagraj to seek spiritual purification and moksha. The festival remains a monumental event, blending faith, culture, and tradition on an unparalleled scale.
