Amit Shah Hoists Tricolour, Joins Nationwide 'Har Ghar Tiranga'

New Delhi, Aug 13 (PTI) — Union Home Minister Amit Shah hoisted the tricolour at his residence on Wednesday, joining the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign that has become a nationwide movement to boost patriotism.

The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative is part of the larger 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' program, encouraging citizens to display the national flag in their homes to commemorate India's independence.

"Today, under the #HarGharTiranga campaign, I raised the tricolour at my residence," Shah shared in a Hindi post on X. He was joined by his wife Sonal for the event.

Shah remarked that the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has evolved into a collective movement that unites the nation and fosters a patriotic spirit.

"This initiative reflects the resolve of 140 crore Indians to develop and enhance the free India envisioned by countless freedom fighters through their sacrifices and dedication," he added.

The core goal of this campaign is to awaken patriotism in people's hearts and foster a deeper connection and awareness of the national flag.

The impetus for this initiative was the recognition that the relationship between citizens and the national flag has traditionally been more formal and institutional, rather than personal.
