Amit Shah in Jammu, highlights BJP's Dogra connection

Home Minister Amit Shah, who is in Jammu city as part of his 3-day visit to J&K, highlighted the BJP's connection to the Dogra community while addressing a public event.

The Home Minister paid tributes to Prem Nath Dogra on his birth anniversary, the late BJP leader who fought for J&K integration into India and was opposed to idea of the erstwhile state having a separate Prime Minister, President and Constitution.

Dogras are one of the dominant communities of Jammu and former rulers of the region. Maharaja Hari Singh who signed the Instrument of Accession to India belonged to this community.

Referring to the scrapping of J&K's special status, Shah added that people of Jammu will no longer have to face injustice.
