Allahabad High Court schools petitioner demanding opening of Taj Mahal rooms

The doors of 22 rooms in the Taj Mahal will remain shut after the Allahabad High Court rejected a plea demanding that they be opened to ascertain whether there are Hindu idols inside or not. His plea also sought for government to form a fact-finding committee for the matter.

The HC was in mood to entertain the plea filed by Rajneesh Singh, a BJP youth media in-charge and schooled him for 'mocking the public interest litigation' system.

Here's what the Allahabad High Court told him: -

'The issues lie outside court and should be done by various methodology and should be left with the historians'

'It is not for the Court to direct what subject needs to be researched or studied. We are not able to entertain such a petition'

'Such debates are meant for drawing room, not for a court of law'

'Go and research, do M.A, do PhD. If any institute disallows you to research on such a topic then come to us'
