After outrage, FIR filed in Haridwar hate speech case. Guess who is the only person named

After widespread outrage over hate speeches and calls to kill Muslims at a dharam sansad in Haridwar, Uttarakhand Police have filed an FIR.

While dozens of Hindu fanatics gave open calls to violence against Muslims at the meet, the FIR has named just one person - a Muslim who recently converted into Hinduism. No arrest has been made in the matter.

The FIR has been Filed four days after the event on the complaint of Trinamool Congress leader Saket Gokhale and it names Jitender Narayan, alias Waseem Rizvi, who was earlier the chairman of Shia Waqf board of Uttar Pradesh.

The FIR says he and others have given "derogatory and inflammatory statement against Islam" at the conclave.

The police had initially claimed that no FIR was filed as there was no complaint.

The religious assembly, being referred to as Haridwar "Hate Assembly", sparked a row after videos of Hindu leaders, including Yati Narsinghanand, making provocative speeches and inciting violence against minority communities surfaced on social media.

The event, where bone-chilling calls to arms and violence were made was also attended by BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay, who was earlier arrested in a case of anti-Muslim slogans at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
