AAP Criticizes ED Raids as Diversionary, Defends Saurabh Bharadwaj

New Delhi, Aug 26 (PTI) – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday criticized the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) raids on the Delhi unit chief, Saurabh Bharadwaj, as a "diversionary tactic," asserting that the charges against him are baseless.

The ED, according to official sources, is conducting searches connected to Bharadwaj, who previously served as Delhi's health minister, as part of a money laundering probe. The investigation involves numerous locations across the national capital under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia defended Bharadwaj, stating, "The raids are a diversionary tactic. The case pertains to the time when Bharadwaj was not holding any ministerial post." He emphasized, "The case is false."

This investigation is linked to an Anti-Corruption Branch case that alleges corruption in health infrastructure projects undertaken by the previous AAP government.
