AAP accuses BJP of Rs 15 Crore poaching attempt pre-Delhi poll results

In a dramatic development ahead of the Delhi election results, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to lure seven AAP candidates with offers of Rs 15 crore each to switch allegiances. Speaking at a press conference, Sanjay Singh claimed the overtures were made via phone calls to the MLAs, whose identities he did not disclose, just a day after the city's polling.

As Delhi waits for the outcome of the elections held on February 5, where the voter turnout was slightly over 60%, exit polls have stirred speculation by indicating a possible BJP resurgence in the capital, challenging the AAP-led administration.

Singh alleged the BJP's actions signal their acknowledgment of defeat before the official count on February 8. "The BJP has accepted its defeat even before the counting of votes," he stated, accusing the party of resorting to "the politics of breaking parties" as they allegedly have across India.

To counter these alleged attempts, AAP has advised its MLAs to document such interactions. "We have instructed them to record any audio calls and file complaints. If approached in person, they should capture it on video with a hidden camera," Singh emphasized.

These allegations paint a tense prelude to the announcement of the election results, underscoring the intense rivalry between the two major political parties in Delhi.
