‘Inspection Bungalow’: ZEE5's Malayalam Horror Comedy Premieres Nov 14

New Delhi, Nov 4 (PTI) – ZEE5 is all set to unveil its Malayalam horror comedy series titled ‘Inspection Bungalow’ on November 14. Helmed by Saiju S.S., known for his work on "Ira," and featuring Sabarish Varma in the lead role, this paranormal comedy takes place within the confines of a police station. It intertwines eerie events that challenge the boundaries between reality and the supernatural, as per the official press release.

The narrative follows sub-inspector Vishnu, portrayed by Varma, who deals with his own fears while teaming up with Mythili, an astute paranormal researcher. Together, they unravel secrets that extend beyond the spirits lurking within.

"Each frame is crafted to evoke a deeper connection, whether it's tension, amusement, or contemplation," stated director Saiju S.S. "As Kerala’s pioneering horror-comedy web series, we aspired to deviate from the mainstream and create an environment where fear and fun naturally coexist. ZEE5 gave us the freedom to mold that vision."

Varma expressed that his role as Vishnu was a unique challenge, stating that the storyline is more than just a typical horror comedy. "Portraying Vishnu presented an entirely new set of challenges. He is a regular man navigating fear, absurdity, and life’s unexpected humor. This emotional blend and dark comedy truly tested my skills as an actor. 'Inspection Bungalow' offers layers of irony, emotion, and spontaneous laughter," he explained.

The series, brought to life by A Veena Nair Productions and scripted by Suneesh Varanaad, also features actors Aadhiya Prasad, Shaju Sreedhar, and Senthil Krishna.
