Prime Video's 'The Girlfriend' Premieres September 10

Los Angeles, Aug 14 (PTI) — Prime Video has announced the premiere date for its new series "The Girlfriend," starring Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke, set to stream on September 10.

This six-episode drama is an adaptation of Michelle Francis's acclaimed novel of the same name. The narrative centers around Laura, portrayed by Wright, whose picture-perfect life begins to crumble when her son introduces Cherry, his girlfriend, into their lives. Cherry's presence ignites a cycle of paranoia that Laura finds increasingly difficult to navigate.

Joining the stellar cast alongside Wright and Cooke are Laurie Davidson, Waleed Zuaiter, Tayna Moodie, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Karen Henthorn, Anna Chancellor, Leo Suter, and Francesca Corney.

"The Girlfriend" has been adapted for the screen by Naomi Sheldon and Gabbie Asher. It is a collaborative effort by Imaginarium Productions and Amazon MGM Studios, with Jonathan Cavendish and Caroline Norris producing. Executive producers include Robin Wright, Will Tennant, Phil Robertson, John Zois, Dave Clarke, Gabbie Asher, and Michelle Frances.
