George Nolfi and Graphic India to Reimagine 'The Adjustment Bureau' in Indian Language

Mumbai, Oct 9 (PTI) Hollywood writer-director George Nolfi is set to collaborate with Sharad Devarajan’s Graphic India to create an Indian language feature film reimagining his renowned movie “The Adjustment Bureau”.

Devarajan, the founder and CEO of Graphic India, is well-known for developing the popular animated series "The Legend of Hanuman".

He will be producing this project along with Nolfi, who wrote and directed the 2011 sci-fi romantic thriller featuring Oscar winner Matt Damon and "A Quiet Place" star Emily Blunt.

The original film delved into the clash between love and fate through the story of a politician and a dancer who defy a mysterious organization that controls human destiny.

It grossed over USD 127 million worldwide and continues to have a significant presence on streaming platforms.

"India's extensive philosophical and spiritual traditions provide a remarkable backdrop to explore the themes of destiny and free will central to 'The Adjustment Bureau'," Nolfi expressed in a statement.

He further added, "Having worked closely with Sharad and knowing his ability to transform global properties while maintaining their essence, I couldn't think of a better partner to bring this uniquely Indian vision to life."

Devarajan expressed his excitement about teaming up with Nolfi for the Indian reinterpretation of "The Adjustment Bureau".

"The concepts of karma, dharma, and the eternal interplay of fate and choice are intrinsic to Indian culture.

The notion that love and determination can alter the very fabric of destiny has been a source of inspiration for storytellers for millennia, making India the ideal location for a reimagined version of 'The Adjustment Bureau'," he remarked.

As a screenwriter, Nolfi has crafted scripts for popular Hollywood films like "Ocean’s 12" and "The Bourne Ultimatum".

He has also directed and produced titles such as "The Banker", featuring Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie, and "Elevation", also starring Mackie.

Devarajan has created and produced "The Legend of Hanuman", which released its sixth season earlier this year.

Additionally, he co-created "Baahubali: Crown of Blood" alongside filmmaker S S Rajamouli and Arka Mediaworks.

Moreover, he was the creative mastermind behind Pavitr Prabhakar, the Indian Spider-Man featured in "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse".
