New Delhi, Aug 29 (PTI) - Iconic rock band Linkin Park is set to make its Indian debut as a headliner for Lollapalooza India 2026, as revealed by event organizers on Friday. This announcement fulfills a long-standing desire for the band’s Indian fanbase, eager to witness their electrifying performances.

Celebrated for hit songs like "In the End," "Numb," and "Crawling," Linkin Park will perform in Mumbai, where the highly anticipated festival will unfold on January 24 and 25. The event marks a historic moment for fans who have waited for the band’s live shows for decades.

"India has been on our list of places to perform for a long time. Our fans there show incredible passion, and we are thrilled to finally bring our live experience to them," said Mike Shinoda, a member of the band, in an official statement.

Following the tragic death of frontman Chester Bennington in 2017, Linkin Park took a hiatus from live performances. After years of uncertainty, the band made a triumphant return in 2024 with a new lead vocalist. This comeback was accompanied by the release of their new album "From Zero," featuring singles like "Lost" and "Friendly Fire."

Alongside Shinoda, the group's current lineup features Emily Armstrong, Brad Delson, Joe Hahn, Dave Farrell, and Colin Brittain. Their music has been a global influence for over two decades, and in India, their fandom has only strengthened over the years. BookMyShow Live, the promoter and co-producer of the festival, stated that their upcoming debut is eagerly anticipated as a seminal moment in India’s live music scene.

Lollapalooza India, now in its fourth edition, will not only showcase Linkin Park but also host performances by other renowned artists such as Playboi Carti, Yungblud, Kehlani, Knock2, LANY, Fujii Kaze, Calum Scott, and a lineup of diverse international acts.

The festival's Indian edition is produced by BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment division of BookMyShow, along with Perry Farrell and C3 Presents as global producers. Tickets for this grand event can be purchased on the official website, lollaindia.com.
