Wrap Up of Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara: Chapter 1' Ahead of October Release

New Delhi, Jul 21 (PTI) The filming of Rishab Shetty's eagerly awaited directorial venture “Kantara: Chapter 1” has concluded, according to an announcement by the filmmakers on Monday. Slated for a worldwide theatrical release on October 2, the pan-India film from Hombale Films serves as a prequel to the National Award-winning “Kantara” from 2022, which was also penned and headlined by Shetty. The production company shared this update via a post on its official Instagram page, alongside a BTS (behind the scenes) video from the set. "Wrap Up… The Journey Begins. Presenting #WorldOfKantara ~ A Glimpse into the making. #KantaraChapter1 has been a divine journey, deeply rooted in our culture, brought to life with unwavering dedication, relentless hard work, and incredible team spirit. Can’t wait to see you all in theatres on October 2nd, as this legendary tale unfolds on big screens worldwide," read the caption. The narrative of “Kantara” focused on a small community residing in the woodlands of Kaadubettu in Karnataka's southern coastal region. Originally made with a purported budget of Rs 16 crore, “Kantara” achieved a global box office collection exceeding Rs 400 crore. It was lauded with the National Award for Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and bestowed Shetty with his first Best Actor National Award at the 70th National Film Awards.
