Kamal Haasan Meets PM Modi, Highlights Tamil Heritage

New Delhi, Aug 8 (PTI) — Renowned actor Kamal Haasan recently took to social media to share his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by a set of photographs. In his post on Thursday, Haasan, through his X account, provided an extensive note detailing the meeting.

"Today, I had the honor of meeting the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji. As a representative of the Tamil Nadu populace and as an artist, I presented several requests, the most significant being the acceleration of the recognition of Keeladi's ancient significance," Haasan expressed in his post.

The 70-year-old luminary emphasized his appeal for the Prime Minister’s assistance in elevating the Tamil language and its rich civilization to a global audience.

"I urged the Prime Minister to extend his support to the Tamil people in showcasing to the world the grandeur of Tamil civilisation and the timeless glory of the Tamil language," Haasan elaborated.

On the professional front, Haasan is currently being lauded for "Thug Life". Released on June 5, this cinematic piece was helmed by the esteemed director Mani Ratnam and starred talents like Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, and Aishwarya Lekshmi.
