"No one illegal on stolen land": Billie Eilish calls for immigrants rights in Grammys 2026 'Song of the Year' speech

Los Angeles [US], February 2 (ANI): Billie Eilish, who clinched Song of the Year for "Wildflower" at the 2026 Grammys, took a moment to advocate for 'immigrants' during her winning speech.
The 24-year-old singer used her time on stage to speak about the current political climate and the impact of strict immigration rules in the US
During her speech, Eilish spoke about how hard it is to stay silent when people are hurting. She then delivered a line that quickly spread across social media: "As grateful as I feel, I honestly don't feel like I need to say anything except that no one is illegal on stolen land," Eilish, 24, said, according to PEOPLE.
Standing next to her brother and co-writer Finneas O'Connell, Eilish went on to explain that she has been feeling unsure about what to say or do, but still believes in the power of people coming together. While talking about staying "hopeful" and continuing to "fight" and "speak up," she said: "It's just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now, and I just feel really hopeful in this room. I feel like we just need to keep fighting, speaking up, and protesting. Our voices really do matter, and people matter."
"And f--- ICE, that's all I'm gonna say. Sorry!" The crowd responded with loud cheers and a standing ovation.
Eilish was not the only artist to speak about immigration that night. Several winners used their moments on stage to show support for immigrants and their families.
Along with "Wildflower," this year's Song of the Year category included tracks by Lady Gaga, Doechii, Rose, Bruno Mars, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and Sabrina Carpenter. Eilish released "Wildflower" in May 2024 as part of her Hit Me Hard and Soft album. The song reached No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was also nominated for Record of the Year. (ANI)
