New Delhi, Aug 25 - Renowned flute virtuoso Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia is set to lead the 28th installment of Amar Jyoti, accompanied by eminent tabla maestro Ustad Rashid Mustafa Thirakwa, in a grand performance at the Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi, this Tuesday.

Organized by the Pandit Chatur Lal Memorial Society, this revered annual music event serves as a tribute to India’s armed forces.

Pandit Charajit Chatur Lal, society secretary, expressed in a statement, "For nearly thirty years, 'Amar Jyoti' has embodied our family's devotion to leveraging music as a conduit for service. Each edition stands as a venerable tribute to our armed forces, instilling pride and reverence among attendees."

In addition to the esteemed 87-year-old Padma Vibhushan awardee, the event will feature 'Brahmaand' – The Universe, a modern ensemble orchestrated by Pranshu Chatur Lal on percussions. Performers include Rohan Prasanna on sarod, Shounok Banerjee on ghatam, and Zaki Ahmad on vocals, blending current soundscapes with a classical foundation.

Founded in memory of legendary tabla maestro Pandit Chatur Lal, the Society is committed to maintaining the rich heritage of Indian classical music while fostering new talent. Through Amar Jyoti, it continues to merge patriotism with artistic expression in a stirring cultural celebration.
