New Delhi, Aug 8 (PTI) - Celebrated actor Aditi Rao Hydari is set to be honoured with the prestigious Diversity in Cinema Award at the forthcoming Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), the festival officials confirmed on Friday.

Selected as the guest of honour, Hydari will be recognised for her remarkable contributions to the cinematic world and her impactful performances spanning a variety of mediums. This recognition highlights her significant impact on global audiences, showcasing her poise, talent, and natural screen presence, as stated in an official press release.

Known for her memorable portrayal of Bibbo Jaan in 'Heeramandi', Aditi continues to capture hearts. Her presence at IFFM 2025 is anticipated to amplify the festival’s excitement and bring an added elegance to the celebration of Indian cinema overseas.

Reacting to the accolade, Hydari expressed that receiving the Diversity in Cinema Award is a “special honour”. She added, "Melbourne has always extended a warm welcome, and being celebrated in a city that embraces cinema with such fervor is incredibly humbling."

Mitu Bhowmik Lange, the festival director, lauded Aditi's artistic accomplishments, describing her as the "epitome of grace and excellence". Lange remarked, "Her work speaks volumes of her versatility and strength as an artist. We are thrilled to have her at IFFM 2025 and to present her with the Diversity in Cinema Award."

The 2025 edition of the festival, scheduled from August 14 to 24 in Melbourne, promises a diverse lineup of screenings, red carpet events, industry panels, and the distinguished IFFM Awards.
