New Documentary Honors 25 Years of 'Gilmore Girls'

Los Angeles, Aug 26 (PTI) — A new documentary titled "Searching For Stars Hollow" is currently in production to honor the 25th anniversary of the iconic series "Gilmore Girls" in October.

The series, which debuted on October 5, 2000, follows the lives of young single mother Lorelai, portrayed by Lauren Graham, and her daughter Rory, played by Alexis Bledel, set in the quaint fictional town of Stars Hollow. Running for seven seasons, "Gilmore Girls" became a beloved cult classic. In 2016, the series made a brief return, offering fans a glimpse into the characters' lives over the span of a year.

"Searching For Stars Hollow" will feature appearances by Kelly Bishop, Jared Padalecki, and Chad Michael Murray.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the documentary, produced by Ink On Paper Studios, aims to explore the series’ significant impact on American cultural history. It will include exclusive interviews with cast members, as well as behind-the-scenes stories from crew members, writers, and directors.

In addition to Bishop (known for her role as Emily Gilmore), Padalecki (Dean Forester), and Murray (Tristan Dugray), the documentary will also present insights from Keiko Agena, Sally Struthers, Liz Torres, Emily Kuroda, Rose Abdoo, Kathleen Wilhoite, Matt Jones, and Grant Lee Phillips. Contributions will also come from director Jamie Babbit, writer and producer Stan Zimmerman, casting directors Jami Rudofsky and Mara Casey, and Kevin T. Porter, former host of the "Gilmore Guys" podcast.

The project is being directed by Meghna Balakumar and Kevin Konrad Hanna, with Adam F. Goldberg serving as executive producer and Jim Demonakos as producer.
