Woman breaks into actor Robert De Niro's home, tries to steal Christmas gifts: police

A woman has been accused of trying to steal Christmas gifts from the house of Hollywood actor Robert De Niro.

The incident occurred around 2:45 am on 19 December 2022. Police arrested the alleged serial burglar from the living room of De Niro's Manhattan home. De Niro, who had been upstairs, came down to the living room as the woman was being arrested.

Police said that the basement door that the woman used to enter the townhouse had signs of forced entry. Officers said that they had been tracking the 30-year-old woman after a string of recent robberies.

A spokesperson for the 79-year-old actor said he wouldn't be making statements about the attempted robbery. De Niro's spokesperson said it was a temporary rental home being used by the actor.
