The police said that the students in Delhi's Mukerjee Nagar used to make fun of the accused for loitering in the area and not doing anything.
The accused told the police that the victim also made fun of him and so he picked up a knife from the vegetable vendor and attacked her.&nbsp;

The Uttar Pradesh Police has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information on second accused Javed.&nbsp;

Budaun District Magistrate Manoj Kumar Singh has ordered an inquiry into the encounter of a man accused of killing two minor boys. He has asked for a report within 15 days.&nbsp;
Police say that 22-year-old barber Sajid was killed in an encounter hours after he allegedly murdered two minor boys with a knife on March 19.
According to the police, Sajid reportedly entered their house to seek financial help for paying his wife's medical bills and then attacked three brothers with a knife. While two of them lost their lives, the third was injured.&nbsp;
Sajid was accompanied by his brother Javed who is currently on the run. The Uttar Pradesh Police has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information on Javed.&nbsp;
The FIR, based on the complaint by the victims' father Vinod Kumar, said Sajid and his brother Javed reached the house at around 7 pm.
Sajid told his wife that he needed Rs 5,000 to pay the hospital for the delivery of his child.
When the wife went inside to get the money, Sajid went to the rooftop of the house. Moments later, Javed also reached the rooftop and they called Ayush and Ahaan, according to the complaint.
The accused attacked the minors with a sharp knife. When they came downstairs, Sangeeta saw that their clothes were drenched in blood.
According to the FIR, one of them said, "I have done my work today".
The accused also attacked the third son Yuvraj who had gone upstairs to fetch some water. Yuvraj is admitted in hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
The boys' father, who is a private contractor, was out of the district at the time of the incident. Apart from his wife Sangeeta, his mother was present at the house.
Police have also not confirmed the motive behind the incident. They have booked both Javed and Sajid for murder (under IPC Section 302 IPC).
"We have detained one Babu, the father of Sajid and Javed and their uncle Kayamuddin for questioning. The move is part of our efforts to arrest Javed who is absconding," said Budaun's Senior Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadarshi.
According to the boys&rsquo; mother, two men had come to their house. Sajid was upstairs when the incident happened while Javed was waiting outside, she said.
Sajid told her that he was feeling uneasy due to the delivery of his child as five children in his family had previously died and no one survived. &ldquo;I also offered him tea,&rdquo; she said.
Sajid killed the two boys and also attacked the third child, the mother added.
According to Munni Devi, the victims&rsquo; grandmother, the accused said he was feeling alone due to his wife&rsquo;s pregnancy. "We don't know why he killed the children," she added.
Nazarin, the mother of the accused, said that her sons faced the consequences of their actions.
"I don't know what was going on in their minds. They do not have any rivalry with anyone. I feel very sad for the children to whom this has been done," she told PTI Videos.
When asked about the police encounter, she added, "They faced the right consequence for their wrong actions." Some right-wing Hindu groups staged a protest against the double murder on Wednesday morning.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav slammed the Uttar Pradesh government in the state, saying the children&rsquo;s lives could have been save if the police had done their job.
&ldquo;They (BJP government) can't hide their shortcomings. This encounter is not going to hide their failure, " he said referring to the encounter during which Sajid was shot dead SP leader Shivpal Singh Yadav who is also the party's nominee for the upcoming Lok Sabha poll in Budaun, slammed the government, saying law and order has totally failed in the state.
"The incident in Budaun is very saddening," he told reporters.
On the encounter, he said, "I congratulate the district and police administration for the action but the truth behind the incident must also come out." BJP MP from Budaun, Sanghamitra Maurya, visited the victims&rsquo; house and assured them her full support. "I condemn the murder of the two minor boys,&rdquo; she said.
Referring to SP leaders remarks on the incident, Maurya said this was no time to do politics.
"Samajwadi Party is doing politics on the issue because its so-called fort of Budaun was demolished by people here in 2019. The SP candidate must have seen that there was no one asking about him in Budaun today. This is why they are doing politics on the issue," Maurya said.
Maurya defeated SP's Dharmendra Yadav in the last Lok Sabha elections.
The last rites of the two boys were performed after a post-mortem examination in the morning. There was heavy police presence at Kachchla Ghat during the rites, officials said.
There is a heavy police deployment in the area.

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav also attacked the BJP state government in UP said the lives of the two brothers could have been saved.
"The lives could have been saved had the police worked properly. They (BJP government) can't hide their shortcomings, this encounter is not going to hide their failure," Yadav said, referring to the encounter of one of the accused of the brutal murder of two children at their home in Budaun.

The man who brutally murdered two children at their home in Budaun knew the family and had gone there seeking money for payment to a hospital where his pregnant wife is admitted, according to the FIR lodged on the matter.
Hours after the murder, the accused Sajid (22) was gunned down in an encounter with the police, IG Bareilly range RK Singh told PTI on Wednesday.
A man who had recently opened a barber shop in the locality entered the house and attacked three brothers -- Ayush,12, Ahaan alias Honey, 8, and Yuvraj, 10, with a knife. Ayush and Ahaan died in the attack, while Yuvraj was rushed to a hospital with grievous wounds.
As per the FIR lodged after a complaint by the deceased's father Vinod Kumar, accused Sajid and his brother Javed reached the house at around 7 pm on Tuesday.
"Sajid told my wife Sangeeta that he needed Rs 5,000 which is required for the delivery of his wife. When my wife went inside to get the money, Sajid went to the roof of the house. Moments later, Javed also reached the roof and they called my two sons Ayush, 12, Ahaan alias Honey, 8 on the roof," reads the FIR.
The accused attacked the minors with a sharp knife. The mother of the two boys saw that the clothes of the accused were drenched with blood when they came downstairs.
"When my wife came out with the money, she saw Sajid and Javed coming downstairs with a knife. Seeing my wife, they said 'I have done my work today' and tried to escape from the spot," reads the FIR.
The accused also attacked the third son Yuvraj who had gone upstairs to fetch water. Yuvraj is admitted in hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
The father of the deceased who is a private contractor was out of the district at the time of the incident. Apart from his wife Sangeeta, his mother was present at the house.
Police have not clarified about the whereabouts of Javed. Police have also not confirmed the motive behind the incident.
Police have booked both Javed and Sajid for murder (under IPC Section 302 IPC) in the FIR.
Considering that the case pertains to people from different communities, a heavy police force has been deployed in the area.

A 31-year-old man was been hacked to death after being shot at allegedly by eight people in Maharashtra's Pune district, police said on Sunday.
The police said that the victim has been identified as Avinash Dhanve a properly dealer who had multiple criminal cases against him.&nbsp;
The incident, which took place on Saturday night in Indapur area, seems to be the fallout of a gang rivalry, they said.
Dhanve was eating at a highway eatery near Pune when he was attacked.&nbsp;
"We have identified eight assailants through the CCTV footage and teams have been mobilised to apprehend them," the Pune police said
"Dhanve, who had multiple cases against him, was shot at and hacked to death," he said.
A previous enmity with a rival group seems to be the reason behind the killing, the official said, adding that an investigation is on into the incident.

Hours after ex-model Divya Pahuja was shot dead in a Gurugram hotel, police responded to a call and visited the hotel and returned after checking room number 114, while the body was lying in another room, police sources said Friday.
The 27-year-old woman was taken to Hotel City Point on Tuesday by five people and allegedly shot dead inside room number 111, they said.
While Divya&rsquo;s body is yet to be recovered, on Friday, a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), which will be led by ACP crime Varun Dahiya, was formed to probe the case, police said. The team will work under the supervision of DCP Crime Vijay Pratap Singh.
According to the sources, the main accused hotel owner Abhijit Singh revealed that Divya was shot dead in the hotel at 5 pm on Tuesday.
He called Anup, to whom the hotel was given on lease, for help but Anup informed the police about the murder at 9 pm, they said.
After getting information, police reached the spot and returned after checking room number 114 while Divya&rsquo;s body was lying in room number 111, the sources said.
Taking advantage of this, Abhijit asked his friends Balraj Gill and Ravi Bandra for help in disposing of the body. In a CCTV footage, Abhijit can be seen fleeing the hotel in a blue BMW car with Divya's body in the boot, they said.
Later, Anup again called the police at 11 pm on which the police took a serious note. After examining the CCTV footage, the murder was revealed but by then the suspects had fled with the body.
The footage shows the suspects, including Abhijit, purportedly dragging her body wrapped in a white sheet through the hotel lobby to the BMW car, police had said.
The BMW car was found abandoned at a bus stand in Punjab&rsquo;s Patiala, however, the former model&rsquo;s body is yet to be recovered, the Gurugram Police said in a statement on Thursday evening.
Till now, Abhijit, Hemraj and Omprakash have been arrested while two others, including Gill, are still at large, police said.
Sandeep Gadoli, a dreaded gangster from Gurugram, was killed in a shootout in Mumbai on February 6, 2016. Later, the Mumbai police said Gadoli had been lured into a trap with the help of his "girlfriend" Divya and killed in a fake encounter.
Virendra Kumar alias Binder Gujjar ran a rival gang and allegedly conspired with Haryana Police officials to eliminate Gadoli. Gujjar was in prison at the time of the encounter, but he hatched the conspiracy with the help of his brother Manoj and roped in Divya as a honey trap.
An FIR was registered against five police personnel, Divya, her mother and others.
The Bombay High Court had granted bail to Divya in June last year, about seven years after she was arrested.
Police are probing the case from three angles &ndash; blackmail, roles of gangster Gadoli's family, and Gujjar&rsquo;s involvement.
DCP Crime Singh said the revelations made by Abhijit are being verified and he is also being interrogated about Divya.
Abhijit claims that he killed Divya because she was blackmailing him, he said.
"We are also interrogating Hemraj and Om Prakash and trying to connect the entire sequence of events that took place on January 2. Divya's mobile has also been sent to Diatec Lab for testing,&rdquo; the DCP said.
&ldquo;Our teams are continuing to raid suspect places and hope the body of the deceased will be recovered soon,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;

Karnataka: citing slow pace of trial, accused in journalist murder case granted bail

'Though charges were framed in the present case on 30.10.2021, for the last more than two years, only 90 witnesses have been examined. There are more than 400 charge sheet witnesses who are yet to be examined in the case,' HC said citing delay in trial

Mohan Nayak N, the 11th accused in the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, has been granted bail by the High Court of Karnataka.
The allegation against Nayak was that "he had conspired with the other accused persons to commit the murder of deceased Gauri Lankesh and in furtherance of such conspiracy, he had taken a house for rent at Ramanagara in an isolated place and had given shelter in the said house to accused number 2 &amp; 3 who are the actual assailants in the present case."
He is the first accused in the case to obtain bail, which was granted by the single judge bench of Justice S Vishwajith Shetty.
One of the grounds on which Nayak was granted bail was the delay in the trial.
"In the present case, out of 527 charge sheet witnesses, only 90 witnesses have been examined. This Court on 11.02.2019 directed the Trial Court to expedite the trial. Though charges were framed in the present case on 30.10.2021, for the last more than two years, only 90 witnesses have been examined. There are more than 400 charge sheet witnesses who are yet to be examined in the case.
Even if it is assumed that all the witnesses mentioned in the charge sheet may not be examined in the case, considering the fact that only 90 witnesses have been examined for the last more than two years, it can be safely presumed that any time soon, the trial of the case may not be completed," the HC said in its judgement.
Nayak is in custody since July 18, 2018.
Gauri was murdered outside her residence in Bengaluru on September 5, 2017 by bike-borne men. The police arrested a total of 17 men in connection with the case and claim that Gauri's murder was connected to the murder of Kannada writer M M Kalburgi and those of Govind Pansare and Narendra Dabholkar in Maharashtra.

Gogamedi was gunned down in the living room of his house in Jaipur on December 5. A CCTV footage had surfaced purportedly showing the assailants opening fire at Gogamedi.
Police had identified the two alleged killers as Rohit Rathore from Jaipur and Nitin Fauji from Haryana's Mahendragarh, and announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to their arrest.
Delhi Police sources on Sunday said a team of the Crime Branch in a joint operation with the Rajasthan Police nabbed the duo from Chandigarh's Sector 22. They were accompanied by one more associate, Udham Singh, who was also caught.
According to a police officer, the accused will be handed over to the Jaipur police for further interrogation.
An 11-member SIT was formed by the Rajasthan Police to nab the accused.
On Saturday, another man was arrested in Jaipur for allegedly contracting the shooters to kill Gogamedi.
According to the police, Ramveer Jat, one of the conspirators in the Gogamedi murder case, had prepared the groundwork for Fauji, his friend, in Jaipur ahead of the killing.

The incident took place at Kasane village near Vasind in Shahapur taluka on Wednesday and the Padgha police later arrested the woman, they said.
The child&rsquo;s father, who worked as a security guard at a nearby godown, married the woman in 2022.
Last year, the couple&rsquo;s son was born with a congenital illness and has been receiving treatment at the Wadia Hospital in Mumbai, an official from Padgha police station said.
The woman and her mother-in-law were frequently at odds over the child&rsquo;s care and well-being.
On Tuesday, the child&rsquo;s grandmother, concerned about his health, decided to take him to Titwala during a visit to her daughter.
However, the child developed a fever there and his grandmother brought him back to Kasane late Tuesday night, the official said.
Later, a heated argument took place between the child&rsquo;s mother and grandmother over his health condition, he said.
The child&rsquo;s father left for his night shift work after attempting to calm the situation.
When he returned on Wednesday morning, he briefly played with his son before falling asleep.
During this time, the child&rsquo;s mother allegedly drowned him in a water tank located on the first floor of the house, the official said.
Later, when the man was unable to find his son, he began a search for him along with family members and friends.
In the meantime, the child&rsquo;s mother approached police with a complaint, claiming her son had gone missing, the official said.
Her husband grew suspicious and confronted her. The woman then confessed to him that she had killed their child, he said.
The man subsequently contacted the Padgha police and filed a complaint.
The body was recovered and sent to a government hospital for post-mortem, police inspector Bala Kumbhar said.
The woman was taken into custody and booked for murder and other charges, he added.
