Delhi woman dragged by car: India's first woman IPS officer highlights 3 issues exposed by grisly death

Kiran Bedi, India's first woman IPS officer who worked in Delhi for many years, commented on the case of 20-year-old Anjali Singh being killed after allegedly being dragged under a car for 13 km.

Bedi, the former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, said that the incident highlights the delay in police response system, lack of fear of the law among people, and poor integration of police with civic agencies.

An eyewitness to the grisly death has claimed that he called Delhi Police "18-20 times" in less than an hour, but did not receive help. Deepak Dahiya said that he kept phoning the police while following the car allegedly dragging Anjali's body. He said that he also sought help from PCR vans on the way, but to no avail.
