Delhi: CCTV shows kidnapping of 5-year-old before she was raped, say police

CCTV footage has emerged from Delhi which apparently shows the alleged abduction of a 5-year-old child who was later raped.

The incident occurred on 21 December 2022, and the child was found in a nearby park on 22 December. She had allegedly been abducted while playing near her house around 5 pm.

Police said that a case had been registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act. The accused had not been arrested by the afternoon of 23 December.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued a notice to the city police, seeking an action-taken report in connection with the alleged abduction and sexual assault of a five-year-old girl at Bhalswa Dairy.

The panel has sought the details related to the FIR and the arrest of the accused by December 26.
