      Go First, which is undergoing insolvency resolution proceedings, is planning give retention allowance to its pilots.

      According to a report by Bloomberg, debt- ridden airline plans to raise salaries of captains by 100,000 rupees ($1,211) a month and by 50,000 rupees for first officers as it tries to salvage its operations after filing for insolvency on May 2.

      Not only this, the offer is also to those who have left the company but are willing to withdraw their resignations by June 15.

      The additional pay, which the airline calls a retention allowance, will come into effect on June 1, according to an email to pilots seen by Bloomberg News.

      Last week, Aviation watchdog DGCA had asked cash-strapped Go First to submit a comprehensive plan for the revival of its operations, including details about the availability of operational planes and pilots, within 30 days.

      The no-frills carrier, which is undergoing a voluntary insolvency resolution process, stopped flying on May 3 and lessors are looking to take back aircraft leased to the carrier.
