Elon Musk and Google co-founder take drugs like ketamine, magic mushroom: reports

Silicon Valley tech executives and staffers are embracing psychedelic drugs like ketamine, psilocybin, and LSD as possible catalysts for innovative business ideas.

Drug usage has changed from being an after-hours activity to becoming ingrained in corporate culture. Boards and business leaders are now struggling to understand their obligations to a workforce that regularly uses drugs as a result of this trend.

As per a Wall Street Journal report, Elon Musk takes ketamine. Google cofounder Sergey Brin sometimes enjoys magic mushrooms.

“They don’t want a normal person, a normal company," Spencer Shulem, CEO of BuildBetter.ai, told WSJ, disclosing how he uses LSD in work settings to improve his focus. “They want something extraordinary. You’re not born extraordinary."

Meanwhile, shortly after the report’s release, Musk clarified in a tweet “ketamine taken occasionally is a better option" than traditional medication for depression, citing the experience of “friends."

Elon Musk, however, criticised the use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), commonly prescribed for mental illness, stating concerns about their potential to "zombify" people.
