Low visibility from fog in Delhi has caused flight diversions at Indira Gandhi International Airport, as per reports. Check out the latest updates and travel advisories from the airport (DIAL) and airlines like IndiGo and SpiceJet.

Delhi Airport Fog Causes Flight Delays: Latest Updates & Travel Advisories From Airlines

Are you planning to travel to or from Delhi Airport for a business meeting? Then you must check the latest weather update as your flight could potentially get delayed.

In fact, as per the latest update from ANI quoting Delhi Airport sources, four flights have been diverted to Jaipur, and one to Dehradun due to low visibility because of fog in Delhi.

Delhi Airport’s Passenger Advisory

Earlier during the day, Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (DIAL), the operator of Delhi Airport, issued a passenger advisory which says, “Low visibility procedures are in progress at Delhi Airport. All flight operations are presently normal. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information.”

SpiceJet, IndiGo Share Updates

The reason behind Delhi Airport’s advisory is fog affecting visibility in the National Capital Region (Delhi-NCR). Sharing a weather update on X, SpiceJet has said, “Due to poor visibility in Delhi, all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status.” The airline has shared a similar update for Amritsar as well.

In fact, IndiGo has also recommended that passengers allow some extra travel time. In its travel advisory on X, IndiGo has said, “Fog is currently affecting visibility in Delhi, which may result in slow-moving traffic and delays in flight schedules. We recommend allowing extra travel time and checking flight status before starting your journey. Safe travels!”

Delhi’s Air Pollution Crisis

The National Capital Region, which includes Delhi and other cities such as Gurgaon, Noida, and Greater Noida, has been battling a severe air pollution crisis for days. A layer of smog has enveloped the entire region, and according to the latest update from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality remains in the 'Severe' category.

Schools Shut in Delhi

The Delhi government has discontinued physical classes for all students up to class 9 and class 11, given the severity of air pollution in the national capital. However, physical classes for students of class 10 and class 12 will continue as usual.
