SMPL
Pune (Maharashtra) [India], May 18: With artificial intelligence rapidly reshaping industries, education choices are increasingly being guided by future employability and technological relevance. For students aspiring to build careers at the intersection of technology, business, and innovation, the application window for the 2026 intake at the Symbiosis Artificial Intelligence Institute (SAII), Pune, is entering its final phase. The institute has announced that applications for the 2026 batch will close on 18th May 2026, making this the last opportunity for eligible students to apply during this admission cycle.
Following the application deadline on 18th May 2026, shortlisted candidates are expected to be announced on 23rd May, followed by personal interaction slot bookings and interviews in early June. The academic session is scheduled to commence in July 2026.
Established as a dedicated artificial intelligence-focused institute under Symbiosis International (Deemed University), SAII has been designed to prepare students for a future where AI literacy, computational thinking, and interdisciplinary problem-solving are expected to become foundational professional skills. The institute was launched to create a specialised academic ecosystem centred around AI education, research, and industry relevance.
For the academic year 2026, SAII is offering two flagship undergraduate programmes:
* B.Sc. (Artificial Intelligence) - Honours / Honours with Research
* B.B.A. (Artificial Intelligence) - Honours / Honours with Research
These four-year programmes are structured in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) framework and are intended to combine domain knowledge with emerging AI capabilities. While the B.Sc. programme focuses on the technical and computational foundations of artificial intelligence, the B.B.A. programme is designed to integrate business understanding with AI-driven decision-making and digital transformation.
The programmes place emphasis on areas such as machine learning, data analytics, programming, interdisciplinary applications of AI, project-based learning, industry mentorship, internships, and research exposure. Students are also introduced to specialisation pathways spanning domains such as financial technologies, marketing technologies, global supply chain systems, media and creative industries, cybersecurity, and data science.
To be eligible for admission, applicants must have completed Class XII (10+2) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks, while candidates from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories require a minimum of 45% marks. The programmes are open to students from all academic streams -- Science, Commerce, and Arts.
Alongside academic learning, SAII aims to build strong industry readiness through internships, placement assistance, and entrepreneurial exposure. Graduates of the B.Sc. (Artificial Intelligence) programme may explore emerging roles such as AI analyst, data scientist, cybersecurity analyst, and healthcare technologist, while B.B.A. (Artificial Intelligence) graduates can pursue opportunities across domains including fintech, marketing technology, HR analytics, and operations strategy. Students will also receive placement support through the institute's dedicated placement cell and industry collaborations spanning sectors such as technology, fintech, healthcare, media, agri-industries, cybersecurity, and sports technology. Internships are typically introduced during the third year, ranging from short-term summer experiences to semester-long industry engagements. As SAII commenced operations in 2025 and its first batch is yet to graduate, placement outcomes and salary packages will evolve based on industry demand, market conditions, and student performance. The institute remains focused on building long-term industry partnerships to strengthen career opportunities for future graduates.
As AI adoption accelerates across sectors including finance, healthcare, retail, media, logistics, consulting, and governance, institutions focused exclusively on artificial intelligence education remain relatively limited in India. SAII positions itself as a specialized destination for students seeking early exposure to the technologies, systems, and problem-solving frameworks shaping the next decade of work.
Prospective students interested in applying for the 2026 batch can complete the registration process through the institute's official website before the 18th May deadline.
