Amid challenging macro-environment, Tesla to try advertising, says Musk

Elon Musk, has cautioned that Tesla was not immune to the challenging global economy, which he predicts will remain difficult for at least a year.

During the shareholders meeting in Austin, Texas, Musk also talked about two new mass-market vehicles Tesla is working on, played down market rumours that he might step down as CEO, and confirmed that deliveries of the long-delayed Cybertruck pickup would begin this year.

Musk announced that Tesla would try to advertise its automobiles, something the business has never done before, signalling that circumstances are tough even for the market leader in electric cars. Musk, the CEO of Twitter, stated, "We'll test out some advertising and see how it goes.

"Tesla is not immune to the global economic environment. I expect things to be, just at a macro economic level, difficult for at least the next 12 months," said the billionaire

Tesla missed its margin goal in the first quarter despite slashing vehicle prices significantly in response to a weakening economy and more competition, as per a Reuters report.
