Ford India has launched a CNG variant to the Aspire sedan’s existing range of petrol and diesel options. It is available in two trims- Ambiente and Trend Plus. Ford Aspire CNG will come with a two year or 1 lakh km warranty whichever comes earlier. Ford claims the CNG-running sedan will offer a maintenance cost of just 46 paise per kilometer. While it's primarily aimed at fleet operators, the Trend Plus variant can be bought by private buyers as well. The Ford Aspire is the only CNG sedan that comes with dual airbags as standard.

Mahindra has entered the crowded sub-4m compact SUV segment yet again with launch of the new XUV300. Prices of the new SUV start at Rs 7.90 lakh and go all the way to Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra is offering choices of a petrol as well as a diesel engine on the XUV300, both of which are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, with an automatic option skipped for now. The XUV300 is properly feature loaded with seven airbags, front parking sensors, dual-zone climate control and an electric sunroof among others.

It will continue to be offered with the same 3.2-litre and 2.2-litre diesel engines.  However, it is expected to be better equipped than the outgoing model.The new Endeavor will feature a revised front grille, headlamps, new alloy wheels and Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system. The Endeavour competes with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V and the Kodiaq in India.

Renault has added some more features to the Kwid for 2019. It now gets added safety features right from the base variant without any price change whatsoever. 
Standard safety kit on offer includes ABS, driver airbag, speed-sensing door locks, reverse parking sensors and over speeding alert. 
The higher variants of the Kwid receive Apple CarPlay with Android Auto compatibility with the touch screen. 


Skoda has some big plans for the Indian market and it will kick start them with the launch of a new compact SUV by 2020. Called the Kamiq, Skoda has now released sketches of the new SUV which will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks. Expect it to be competitively priced as Skoda plans to localise its upcoming products to a significant level of 95 per cent.

While Kia will kick-off its India debut with an SUV, it plans to follow it up with an MPV and a hatchback. So expect Kia to launch the Carnival, a premium people mover which will serve those looking for options beyond the Toyota Innova Crysta. This could be followed by the Kia Rio which rivals the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and the Maruti Baleno.

Tata Motors has now made ABS with EBD  standard on the Tiago. However,dual airbags are still not a part of the standard equipment and can only be had on the top-spec XZ and XZ+ variants. 
Tata has also discontinued the base XB variant making XE, the new entry-level variant, which starts at 4.21 lakh rupees.

Tata Motors has unveiled an all new micro SUV concept at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show called the H2X and according to the carmaker, the concept is expected to get a production model at the 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi. Likely to get the same set of engines as the Tiago and Tigor, the H2X will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options. However, since Tata is discontinuing their diesel versions, expect the H2X to only come with a petrol engine at launch.It is likely to be priced between Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh, the production version of the H2X will go up against the likes of the Maruti Swift, Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 in India.

Honda has finally launched the much awaited tenth-gen Honda Civic in India with a starting price of Rs 17.69 lakh ex-showroom India. It is available in both a petrol and a diesel engine along with three variant options- V, VX and ZX. The 2019 Civic gets a 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which churns out 141PS of power and 174Nm of torque. But for the first time, it’s also getting a 1.6-litre diesel unit which delivers 120PS of power with 300Nm of torque.Being a Honda, the Civic is properly loaded on the features front with 6 airbags, hill start assist, dual zone climate control, Honda’s lane watch camera, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment and rear parking camera among others.

Priced at Rs 4.84 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, it is available only in the base LXI and LXI Optional variants. The WagonR CNG is priced at a premium of Rs 65,000 over their respective petrol powered variants. The CNG-powered WagonR employs a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Maruti claims that the WagonR CNG can return a mileage of 33.54 km per kg. The WagonR CNG comes equipped with ABS with EBD, driver airbag with passenger airbag on LXi optional variant, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and central locking.

Maruti has launched the 2019 version of its Ignis hatchback in India with minor updates and more safety features. The funky hatchback now gets roof rails on the top Zeta and Alpha variants, with a slight bump up in prices as well. In order to comply with upcoming safety norms, the 2019 Ignis now gets reverse parking sensors, co-driver seatbelt reminder and a speed alert system which are now a part of its standard safety kit.There are no mechanical updates and the hatchback continues to be offered with a petrol powertrain only. The 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder engine comes paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The Ignis is sold via premium Nexa showrooms in the country.
