Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, is facing controversy after an episode&ensp;of "India's Got Latent" with the comedian Samay Raina. The episode has provoked considerable backlash and has resulted in legal complaints for&ensp;allegedly &ldquo;promoting obscenity.&rdquo;
This was came&ensp;after both Allahbadia and Raina got a complaint filed by Akshit Singh as posts by handle @HinduITCell on social media platforms like X (previously Twitter). This complaint has been&ensp;filed with the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. A&nbsp;
The MIB has directed Deputy Secretary Amarendra Singh to&ensp;probe the show's content and the Government action is evident in a screenshot of the complaint dated February 9.
Separate complaints were also filed with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the State Women and Child Commission. Advocate Rahul Easwar in a written submission has alleged that his videos that have been made public are full of &ldquo;offensive and obscene language&rdquo; and that the&ensp;same lacks appropriate content warning and might result in the demoralisation of the public and minors being exposed to such explicit videos.
Easwar, in his complaint to the Mumbai Police Commissioner, said that Allahbadia&rsquo;s questions were &ldquo;highly offensive, grossly obscene, and detrimental to public decency and ethics". He added, &ldquo;It was broadcasted on a public platform without any age restrictions, thereby exposing impressionable viewers, including minors, to explicit and indecent content.
Although law enforcement officials have commenced a preliminary investigation at the filming location, no formal charges have been filed against the accused parties.
During the controversial episode, Allahbadia posed a series of bold questions that resonated poorly with audiences. Notably, he asked a contestant about the "size of his p****" and followed with another provocative dilemma lifted from another YouTube show: "Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or would you join in once to stop it forever?"
The episode has evoked mixed reactions across social media. While some users demand the removal of Allahbadia's and Raina's online channels, bolstering the complaints against them, others commend the complainant Singh for his intervention, deeming the action a safeguard for Indian society. There is a growing call among critics for audiences to boycott the creators by unfollowing them from digital platforms.

'Led me to a dark delusion': YouTube mom, who gave parenting lessons, sentenced for abusing her 6 kids

Ruby Franke, a Utah mother of six who gave parenting advice to millions via a once-popular a YouTube channel, shared a tearful apology to her children for physically and emotionally abusing them before a judge delivered a sentence that could put her in prison for years, if not decades.
Franke told Judge John J. Walton that she would not argue for a shorter sentence before she stood to thank local police officers, doctors and social workers for being the &ldquo;angels&rdquo; who saved her children from her at a time when she says she was under the influence of her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt. The Utah mental health counselor, who had been hired to work with Franke&rsquo;s youngest son before going into business with Franke, also received four consecutive prison sentences of one to 15 years.
However, the women will only serve up to 30 years in prison due to a Utah state law that caps the sentence duration for consecutive penalties. The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole will consider their behavior while incarcerated and determine how much of that time each will spend behind bars.
Franke and Hildebrandt had each pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child abuse for trying to convince Franke&rsquo;s two youngest children that they were evil, possessed and needed to be punished to repent. The women were arrested at Hildebrandt&rsquo;s house in the southern Utah city of Ivins last August after Franke&rsquo;s 12-year-old son escaped through a window and asked a neighbor to call the police, according to a 911 call released by the St. George Police Department.
The boy was thin, covered in wounds and had duct tape around his ankles and wrists. He told investigators that Hildebrandt had put ropes on his limbs and used cayenne pepper and honey to dress his cuts, according to a search warrant.
State prosecuting attorney Eric Clarke described the environment in which Franke and Hildebrandt had kept the kids as &ldquo;a concentration camp-like setting,&rdquo; a term most strongly associated with the camps established by the Nazis to starve, overwork and execute Jewish people and other minorities across Europe during the Holocaust.
While Franke has shown remorse and cooperated with attorneys, Clarke said, Hildebrandt has not and continues to place blame on the children. Hildebrandt&rsquo;s attorney, Douglas Terry, said his client is not the remorseless woman she has been portrayed to be and accepts responsibility for her actions.
Hildebrandt pleaded guilty in December to four of her six counts of aggravated child abuse, and two counts were dismissed as part of her plea deal. Franke also pleaded guilty to four of her six charges and not guilty to two. Each charge carries a prison sentence of one to 15 years, which will run consecutively.
Franke and her husband, Kevin Franke, launched &ldquo;8 Passengers&rdquo; on YouTube in 2015 and amassed a large following as they documented their experiences raising six children. She later began working with Hildebrandt&rsquo;s counseling company, ConneXions Classroom, offering parenting seminars, launching another YouTube channel and publishing content on their shared Instagram account, &ldquo;Moms of Truth.&rdquo;

Prior to her 2023 arrest, Ruby Franke was already a divisive figure in the parent vlogging world. The Franke parents were criticized online for certain parenting decisions, including for banning their oldest son from his bedroom for seven months for pranking his younger brother. In other videos, Ruby Franke talked about refusing to take lunch to a kindergartener who forgot it at home and threatening to cut the head off a young girl&rsquo;s stuffed toy to punish her for cutting things in the house.
The &ldquo;8 Passengers&rdquo; YouTube channel has since ended, and Kevin Franke has filed for divorce.
Both Franke and Hildebrandt have 30 days to appeal their sentences.

The apex child rights body NCPCR on Wednesday summoned an official of YouTube next week over purported portrayal of potentially indecent acts involving mothers and sons on its platform.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has in a notice to the head of government and public policy of YouTube asked him to physically appear on January 15 along with the list of all such channels running on YouTube and the list of channels on YouTube running such content.
The child rights body said it is an alarming trend on YouTube channels where the channels are portraying potentially indecent acts involving mothers and sons.
"This raises serious concerns about the potential harm it could inflict on the child's well-being and safety. Further, these videos have viewership, including minors, which also raises significant concerns," the NCPCR said.
"If you fail to comply with this order without lawful excuse, you will be subjected to the consequences of the non-attendance," the child rights body added.&nbsp;

The SUV was allegedly driven by members and creators of the YouTube channel "The Borderline", who were trying to drive for 50 hours in a row in a car.
On board the small car was the five-year-old boy, his three-year-old sister who was severely injured and their mother.

To join the YPP, creators will now need 500 subscribers, three public uploads within 90 days and either 3,000 hours of watch time in the past year or three million Shorts views over 90 days.
The previous minimum requirements were 1,000 subscribers and four thousand watch hours in the past year or ten million Shorts views over 90 days.&nbsp;
YouTube plans to introduce the new requirements in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Taiwan, with a later rollout planned for other countries where the YPP is available.

These tokens let your browser remember your login details. If a hacker gets a hold of them, they could get into your account.

According to YouTube, the decision to discontinue YouTube Stories is driven by a focus on other popular features such as YouTube Shorts and Community posts. The platform recently made Community posts available to all channels, removing the previous requirement of 1,000 subscribers to activate the feature.
In an announcement on its community forum, YouTube explained, "Today, there are many ways to create on YouTube &ndash; from Community posts to Shorts, to long-form and Live. To prioritize these key features, Stories are going away."While YouTube Stories aimed to compete with Instagram's Stories feature, it didn't gain the same level of popularity. YouTube data reveals that creators experienced significantly more subscriber growth through YouTube Shorts compared to YouTube Stories. Additionally, Community posts fostered better interaction with subscribers.
Although YouTube Stories will no longer be available, the platform recognizes the value of an ephemeral nature and has introduced an expiration option for Community posts, allowing them to disappear after 24 hours.
Discontinuing lesser-used features like YouTube Stories helps avoid overwhelming the platform with confusing options, ultimately ensuring a better user experience and driving more traffic to videos and channels.
