These four eminent individuals are Dr Shyam Bihari Agrawal, Hriday Narayan Dikshit, Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, and Dr Satyapal Singh.

Taking to his official X account, CM Yogi wrote, &ldquo;The death of Shubham Dwivedi ji of Kanpur district in the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir is extremely sad. Today, I spoke to his father, Mr. Sanjay Dwivedi, over the phone and expressed my condolences. In this hour of grief, the Uttar Pradesh government stands with the family with full commitment.&rdquo;
He also assured that all necessary arrangements were being made by the state to support the grieving family. &ldquo;The concerned officials of the state have been directed to send the mortal remains to Kanpur with full respect. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed soul at his feet and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense sorrow,&rdquo; he added.
The Chief Minister personally spoke with Shubham&rsquo;s father, Sanjay Dwivedi, over the phone and conveyed the state's full support during this difficult time. He also directed officials to ensure Shubham&rsquo;s mortal remains are brought back to Kanpur with dignity.
Shubham Dwivedi had recently tied the knot on February 12, 2025, and was visiting Kashmir with his wife for a short vacation. What was meant to be a joyful trip turned into a devastating tragedy when he became one of the victims of the attack.
Speaking to ANI, Shubham&rsquo;s cousin, Saurabh Dwivedi, shared heartbreaking details of the incident. &ldquo;Shubham Bhaiya got married on February 12 this year. He was in Pahalgam with his wife. My sister-in-law called my uncle and told him that Shubham was shot in the head. It is also reported that the firing began after the individuals were asked for their names... We have received information that the body will be released after 2-3 days after completing all the procedures&hellip;&rdquo; he said.
The incident has sparked widespread grief and outrage, highlighting once again the toll of senseless violence on innocent lives.

Upon their arrival at the Agra airport, the Vance family was received by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The register consists of books, manuscripts, maps, photographs, sound or video recordings as a documentary heritage of humanity.
In a post in Hindi on X, Adityanath said, "It is a proud moment for every Indian that the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, which has been nourishing human civilisation and consciousness for millennia, and Bharat Muni's Natyashastra have been inscribed on UNESCO's Memory of the World Register."

A powerful thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rains wreaked havoc across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on Thursday, resulting in significant loss of life, livestock, and property.
In Uttar Pradesh, at least 22 people and 45 animals were killed, while 15 houses sustained damage, according to the State Relief Commissioner's office.
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced ₹4 lakh ex-gratia compensation for the families of the deceased. In an official statement, the government said, "UP government declares Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia to kin of deceased in thunderstorm and rain that occurred today.&nbsp;
According to the Office of Relief Commissioner, a total of 22 people and 45 animals died and 15 houses were damaged across the state."

Taking to social media, his office posted on X: "Chief Minister @myogiadityanath Ji has expressed deep condolences on the loss of life due to storm and lightning in the state and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. Maharaj Ji has given instructions to immediately distribute the permissible relief amount of Rs 4 lakhs to the families of those who died in this natural disaster and to provide proper treatment to the injured. Maharaj Ji has also directed the provision of permissible assistance to those affected by animal loss."
Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for several districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls are expected in areas including Lucknow, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, and Deoria, among others.
In a parallel tragedy, Bihar&rsquo;s Nalanda district also reported 22 fatalities due to severe weather conditions. According to officials, 21 people died due to thunderstorms, while one person was struck by lightning. Significant damage was reported to homes, livestock, and crops.
District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar confirmed the losses and said that the state government would offer compensation. "A total of 22 people have died; of these, 21 died due to thunderstorms while one died due to lightning. CM has given directions for compensation to all the bereaved, and the directions are being followed. A compensation of Rs 4 Lakh each will be provided for the deceased," the DM told ANI.
He also outlined ongoing recovery and assessment operations. "Tomorrow, our team will assess the loss of houses and crops, after which compensation for the same will be provided. Five livestock also died - 3 buffaloes and 2 cows. So, the losses are also being assessed and process of providing compensation is being undertaken...The injured are being provided medical treatment..."
Efforts to restore normalcy are underway. "All uprooted trees are being cleared on war footing. Almost all of our main routes are cleared. Electricity supply was also hit; more than 350 poles fell, and over 15 transformers suffered losses. The department has formed 42 teams and they have run a drive. We hope everything will be cleared by the morning," Shubhankar added.

This campaign, directed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, underscores the state's commitment to the welfare of its natural ecosystems amidst rising temperatures.
Speaking with ANI, Minister Saxena emphasized the multifaceted strategy, which includes regular patrols by top officials from Lucknow to prevent illegal activities such as forest cutting and animal poaching.
"We are ensuring the protection of our forests and animals," Saxena stated, outlining measures to monitor and control illegal practices.
A significant aspect of the campaign includes addressing water shortages faced by wildlife. Boreholes will be drilled to provide animals with necessary hydration, while food provisions will also be secured to bolster their survival during the heatwave.
Special arrangements are being made to support zoo animals through this challenging period. The initiative aligns with the guidelines set by the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA), focusing on the restoration of forest ecosystems and promoting biodiversity.
Concurrently, Etawah District Magistrate Avinash Rai revealed additional local measures to tackle the heatwave's effects, including coordinated efforts with municipalities and the Disaster Management Department.
These efforts will ensure adequate water supply, reservoir maintenance, and community safety. Rai highlighted the readiness of local hospitals to address heat-related health issues and advised the public to take necessary precautions.
This campaign comes as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts an exceptionally hot summer, warning of increased heatwave days from April to June 2025.
While El Nino conditions have been ruled out for the upcoming monsoon, the forecast urges heightened vigilance and preparedness across the region.

"This is not just a Distillery, but an ethanol plant. Ethanol is being brought to use to fuel not just cars, but also aeroplanes. Replacing diesel and petrol with ethanol will save foreign expenditure and also benefit the farmers. In the first phase, 3.50 lakh litres of ethanol will be produced here daily, and this will increase to 5 lakh litres," CM Yogi said.

Highlighting the rise in ethanol production since Prime Minister Narendra Modi's approval for ethanol manufacturing from surplus sugarcane, the Chief Minister said that the move has drastically scaled up output.
"Ethanol is now being used to save foreign exchange, with plans to power not just cars but also airplanes. India currently spends Rs 7-8 lakh crore on diesel and petrol imports. After Prime Minister Modi took office, he prioritized farmers' welfare, approving ethanol production from surplus sugarcane. The Chief Minister also spoke about the industrial transformation of the GIDA region under the BJP government, saying that it had evolved into a hub of new investments and opportunities.
"This is the same GIDA where no one was willing to set up industries earlier. Over the past 8 years, we've attracted over Rs 15,000 crore in investments, providing jobs to 50,000 youth. Many industries have arrived, and new ones like garment parks are emerging. Many people come to me in Lucknow and express their desire to invest in Gorakhpur and GIDA. This shows that people have now realized that Uttar Pradesh, particularly Gorakhpur, has become a secure destination for investment," CM Yogi said.

The post further noted, "Maharaj Ji has instructed the concerned officials to prioritize and swiftly resolve public issues."
According to the Gorakhnath Temple Administration, CM Adityanath also interacted with children visiting the temple and fed peacocks during his time on the premises.
A day earlier, on Sunday, the Chief Minister inaugurated a ₹1,200 crore grain-based distillery plant under the Super Mega Project at the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA). During the inauguration, Adityanath described the project as a key step toward sustainable fuel development.
"This is not just a distillery, but an ethanol plant. Ethanol is being brought to use to fuel not just cars, but also aeroplanes. Replacing diesel and petrol with ethanol will save foreign expenditure and also benefit the farmers. In the first phase, 3.50 lakh litres of ethanol will be produced here daily, and this will increase to 5 lakh litres," CM Yogi said.
He added that ethanol production has significantly scaled up under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Ethanol production has increased from 42 lakh liters to 177 crore liters since Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the production of ethanol from surplus sugarcane."
Highlighting the rapid industrial growth in the region, Adityanath pointed to GIDA&rsquo;s transformation under the BJP government. He said it has now attracted investments worth over ₹15,000 crore, reversing years of stagnation in industrial development.

Politics is not a full-time occupation for him and he remains a Yogi at heart, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said, parrying a query about a section of people seeing him as the future prime minister of India.
In an interview with PTI, Adityanath dismissed reports about differences between him and BJP's central leaders, noting that he is in the chief minister's chair because of the party.
"Can I remain in the chair by having differences with the party's central leaders," Adityanath asked, adding that he cannot shut the mouth of anyone stoking speculation about such differences.
To a question on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) support for him, he said the Hindutva organisation backs anyone who is "committed to Bharat" and will inspire those who are not to turn to the right path.
The chief minister said his primary role is serving the people of Uttar Pradesh, as entrusted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"I am the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and the party has placed me here to serve the people of the state," he said.
When asked about the growing support for him from a section of people as a future prime minister, Adityanath said, "Politics is not a full-time job for me. Ultimately, I am a yogi (monk) at heart."
The monk-politician also downplayed a question about his popularity as a BJP campaigner in states outside Uttar Pradesh, saying all the chief ministers are part of the party's electioneering.
When pressed, he added, "It may be that people having seen Uttar Pradesh before 2017 can see the changes more starkly. There is an enthusiasm as devotees and people from all over the country visit Uttar Pradesh."
On how long he plans to remain in politics, the chief minister said, "There will be a time frame for this as well."
Asked if his response meant that politics was not his permanent occupation, Adityanath reiterated, "Yes, that is what I am saying."
Explaining his perspective on the intersection of religion and politics, he said, "We limit religion to a confined space and restrict politics to a handful of people, and that is where the problem arises.
"If politics is driven by self-interest, it will create problems. But if it is for the greater good, it will provide solutions. We have to choose between being part of the problem or the solution, and I believe this is what religion also teaches us.
"When religion is pursued for self-interest, it creates new challenges. However, when one dedicates themselves to a higher purpose, it opens up new avenues for progress."
Adityanath also said that Indian tradition does not associate religion with self-interest.
On whether he considers himself more of a religious figure or a political leader, he asserted, "I work as a citizen and do not consider myself special. As a citizen, my constitutional duties come first.
"For me, the nation is paramount. If the country is safe, my religion is safe. When religion is secure, the path to welfare automatically opens."
Asked how he would like him or his legacy to be remembered, Adityanath said light-heartedly that there is no need for others to remember him as he is very much present.
He then added, "It is not the name but the work that should be remembered. One's identity should be through their work, not their name."

The Yogi Adityanath government is all set to launch the U.P. Rozgar Mission to help job seekers improve their skills, especially for employment opportunities abroad. Officials say the state cabinet is expected to approve the plan in its next meeting. This initiative will bring together around two dozen government departments to provide counseling and skill training for those registered with the employment exchange. The goal is to prepare them for both domestic and international job markets, according to a senior official from the labour and employment department. According to the proposal, five high-level monitoring and executive committees at various levels will supervise the Mission. The apex committee or the governing council will be headed by the chief minister while the chief secretary will head another committee. District magistrates will head committees in their respective districts. The additional chief secretary, labour, and the director, training and employment, will head departmental committees at their level. The government has already allocated ₹200 crore to kickstart the Mission. A key focus will be assessing job opportunities abroad and setting up centres to offer foreign language training and career guidance. If job seekers lack specific skills, training programs will help bridge those gaps. To tackle language barriers, the plan includes setting up four to five foreign language training centres across the state. These centres will teach key languages to help candidates adapt better when working overseas. This initiative is part of the government&rsquo;s broader effort to create more employment opportunities and equip young people with the skills needed to compete in the global job market.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday accused the opposition of acting as "barriers" in the state's development.
Addressing an event organised to mark eight years of the BJP government in the state, the chief minister said, "All those who are above 25 years of age will remember that before 2017, the public system of Uttar Pradesh was ruled by hooliganism and mafia.&rdquo;
He emphasised that the situation was especially dire for the youth, farmers, and the general public. &ldquo;The youth was facing an identity crisis, farmers used to commit suicide, and the poor used to die of hunger,&rdquo; he added.
Underscoring the progress made under his government, Adityanath said, &ldquo;This is the same state where the youth did not get jobs and when they went out of the state, they faced an identity crisis,&rdquo; he said.
He criticised the Congress and the Samajwadi Party for allegedly "opposing development".
"When it comes to the pride of Uttar Pradesh, these people first start making misleading comments," he said.
He alleged that the Congress and SP were "fighting against the government during the COVID pandemic". They were not happy with the consecration of Ram temple and "spread false propaganda regarding the Maha Kumbh," he added.
"When these people got the opportunity, the Congress, the Samajwadi Party, they never did any development and when it is happening in UP, they are becoming a barrier in the way of development," said the chief minister.
Claiming development in sectors like agriculture, Adityanath said, &ldquo;Farmers who once faced despair are now contributing to the state&rsquo;s development and no longer committing suicide.&rdquo;
Adityanath outlined the government's commitment to economic growth, citing initiatives such as &ldquo;One District, One Product&rdquo; and increased infrastructure development, particularly in expressways, metro systems, and airports.
&ldquo;Today, Uttar Pradesh is the largest producer of food grains, potatoes, sugarcane, and ethanol in the country,&rdquo; he said, adding, &ldquo;We have transformed Uttar Pradesh from a BIMARU state into a thriving economy.&rdquo;

In a post on X, CM Yogi stated, "Respected Prime Minister, it is the result of your successful guidance that the 'Maha Yagya of Unity, Equality, Harmony'&mdash;Maha Kumbh 2025, Prayagraj&mdash;has concluded today, setting new standards of security, cleanliness, and good management, along with grandeur and divinity. In the last 45 holy days, more than 66 crore devotees, including revered saints and sages, have been blessed by taking a dip of faith in the holy Triveni."
He further emphasized that this religious gathering embodied the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family).

PM Modi further reflected on the spiritual and national significance of the event. "Friends, witnessing the Maha Kumbh has strengthened my faith in India&rsquo;s bright future. The way 140 crore citizens came together to make the Maha Kumbh a global symbol of unity is incredible. Inspired by the dedication and resolve of our people, I will soon visit Shri Somnath, the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas, to offer my Sankalp Pushp in devotion and pray for the well-being of every Indian."
He concluded by expressing his confidence that the spiritual essence of Maha Kumbh will continue to inspire unity and devotion. "The physical form of Maha Kumbh may have concluded on Maha Shivratri, but I am certain that, like the uninterrupted flow of Maa Ganga, the spirit of spiritual consciousness and unity from Maha Kumbh will continue forever."

Meanwhile, thousands of devotees from across the country gathered at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj for the final Snan of Maha Kumbh in the early hours.&nbsp;
The series of sacred baths began with the first Amrit Snan on Paush Purnima (January 13), followed by major Snans on Makar Sankranti (January 14), Mauni Amavasya (January 29), Basant Panchami (February 3), Maghi Purnima (February 12), and the concluding one on February 26, coinciding with Maha Shivaratri.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently addressed critics in a pointed speech in the state assembly, just days before the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh.
He described the Kumbh as a place where people find what they seek, albeit with biting analogies. "Vultures got dead bodies, pigs got filth, whereas sensitive people saw beautiful relationships, traders found business opportunities, and devotees experienced clean arrangements," he said, targeting the opposition.
The opposition has focused particularly on the Kumbh following a tragic stampede that left 18 dead and many injured. Refuting allegations of discrimination, Yogi Adityanath claimed, "No caste was barred from attending. Anyone with good intentions should visit respectfully, but those with ill intentions seeking to create chaos will face consequences."
He criticized past administrations, specifically targeting Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's tenure, alleging mismanagement during previous Kumbh events. "In your time, the chief minister did not review the event and appointed a non-Sanatani as Kumbh in-charge. But I personally oversaw the current arrangements," he asserted, contrasting it with the 2013 Kumbh which he claimed was marred by chaos and pollution.
The opposition, led by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, has capitalized on the issues surrounding the Kumbh festivities.
Kharge's comments honoring "thousands who died in Kumbh" caused outrage in parliament, while Samajwadi Party's Jaya Bachchan alleged mistreatment of stampede victims' bodies.
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee further inflamed tensions by referring to the Kumbh as "Mrityu Kumbh," drawing support from the Shankaracharya of Uttarakhand's Jyotish Peeth.
Reacting to the mounting criticism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Kumbh detractors of harboring a "slave mentality" and indirectly aligning with "foreign powers who try to weaken the country."

"The Maha Kumbh has turned into 'Mrityu Kumbh' under the BJP's rule," she declared. She also criticized the disparity between the treatment of the wealthy and ordinary attendees, claiming that VIPs could access tents priced up to Rs 1 lakh, while basic facilities were not provided for the less fortunate.
Banerjee acknowledged that stampedes are not uncommon at large gatherings but questioned the preparedness of the Uttar Pradesh government. "How many people have been rescued? What planning was done?" she asked, demanding accountability for the deaths.&nbsp;
She further claimed that bodies from the Kumbh had been sent to Bengal without post-mortems and with no death certificates, preventing families from receiving compensation.
The first stampede occurred on January 29 at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, when a large crowd gathered at the Sangam. A similar incident occurred on February 15 at New Delhi Railway Station, where 18 people died as a result of overcrowding among those traveling to Prayagraj for the Kumbh.

In response to the tragic events at the New Delhi Railway Station, Indian Railways formed a two-member committee to investigate the stampede. The committee began reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence as of February 16.
