Akhilesh Yadav during his speech threw a bunch of questions regarding the poor condition of law and order in the state among other issues.&nbsp;
Countering the allegations put by the SP leader, UP CM hit out angrily at him even referring to his family feud.&nbsp;
The priest-politician then launched a scathing attack by referring to Atiq Ahmed, the man who has been accused by the victim's family of the murder.&nbsp;

The Uttar Pradesh government has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad High Court order quashing its draft notification on the urban local body elections and directing the state to hold the polls without reservation for the Other Backward Classes.
The state government, in its appeal against the December 27 order, has said the high court cannot quash the December 5 draft notification which provided for reservation of seats in the urban body polls for the OBCs apart from those for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and women.
The appeal, filed through advocate on record Ruchira Goel, said the OBCs are a constitutionally protected section and the high court erred in quashing the draft notification.
The Uttar Pradesh government had Wednesday appointed a five-member commission for going into the entire gamut of issues for providing reservation to the OBCs in urban local body polls.
The Lucknow bench of the high court had ordered that the state government should notify the polls "immediately" as the term of several municipalities would end by January 31, while annulling the December 5 draft notification.
The court had directed the state election commission to hold the elections by January 31 after transferring the OBC seats in the draft notification to the general category.

790 have criminal cases against them. 607 have serious criminal cases. 50 have cases related to crimes against women and of the 292 constituencies, 154 are Red Alert constituencies - which means 3 or more candidates contesting have criminal charges against them.
In the major parties - the BJP has fielded 120 candidates with criminal cases against them, BSP 111, INC 118, and Samajwadi Party in clear lead with a whopping 159.
It would be an incomplete conversation if one were to talk about Gunda Raaj without mentioning that it's Samajwadi Party who's been infamous for allegedly allowing its leaders to get away with anything - literally. Even the latest recruits into the SP are from the Tiwari clan - where Patriarch Hari Shankar Tiwari is credited with founding the crime politics nexus in UP in the 80s. Some even go as far as to say that this heightened period of criminality in politics ushered in a change of regime in UP.
 
It would make sense that a government so against crime, wouldn’t want its poster boy to be a person accused of hate speech, rioting, arson, defiling places of worship and attempt to murder.
But....

Mukhtar Ansari of the BSP who is currently in prison, has 5 charges of murder against him - these are just 2 of the 106 examples.
 
If the wheels of money and crime go hand in hand - one can reason why political parties field those with criminal antecedents on their ballots - but what's the reasoning for those ticking the ballots?

Portraits of Prime minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were found in garbage collected at the Kosi Kalan power plant, officials said on Sunday.
The portraits of the two leaders were disposed off in 'kabad' by some employees of the power plant while the office was being cleaned, they said.
A few days ago, a sanitation worker was terminated after photos of Modi and Adityanath were found in his garbage cart. He was reinstated after much hue and cry on social media.
Executive engineer in the power department Prabhakar Pandey confirmed the recovery of portraits from the garbage.
The government had asked Pandey to submit a report after the BJP's Yuva Morcha gave a complaint in this regard to the chief minister and Energy Minister A K Sharma.
"During inspection of the power plant on Saturday, the complaint was found to be true. On inquiry, it was found that the sub-divisional engineer and a junior engineer posted there had kept those portraits in junk after getting the office cleaned. The portraits are wiped and hung on the wall again," Pandey said.
A report has been sent to the government, he added.
Energy minister Sharma will visit Mathura on Monday and the employees concerned are likely to face action, the officials said.

Four persons were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the video circulated online of a group of men offering namaz inside the newly opened Lulu Mall in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The arrests were made for offering prayers in an ‘unauthorised manner’ and on charges of promoting enmity between groups.

As per police, preliminary investigation suggests that there was &ldquo;no motive&rdquo; behind their act.

Four persons were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the video circulated online of a group of men offering namaz inside the newly opened Lulu Mall in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The arrests were made for offering prayers in an &lsquo;unauthorised manner&rsquo; and on charges of promoting enmity between groups, according to police.
The police action came a day after UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rebuked the local administration and directed them to take &ldquo;strict action against miscreants who create nuisance and try to vitiate the atmosphere, saying the venue has been turned into a &ldquo;political hotbed&rdquo;.
The four arrested have been identified as Lucknow residents Mohammad Rehan and Atif Khan, and Sitapur residents Mohammad Lokman and Mohammad Noman. As per police, preliminary investigation suggests that there was &ldquo;no motive&rdquo; behind their act.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to nab four other suspects in the case.
The viral video triggered a major controversy with a social media campaign being launched against the mall. The mall management was accused of hiring mostly members of the Muslim community from outside the state to which they responded by issuing a statement clarifying that &ldquo;over 80 percent&rdquo; of its staff are Hindus. The mall authorities also registered a case over the incident against unidentified persons, after the namaz video went viral.

On Sunday, two people were arrested after they entered the mall and began chanting &lsquo;Hanuman Chalisa&rsquo;. Their arrest was followed by the detention of at least 15 members of a right-wing group for creating chaos while attempting to enter the shopping mall but were eventually let off with a warning.
The mall was inaugurated by the Chief Minister on July 10.
