Former wrestler and Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt slammed the trial exemption handed to grapplers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia for the Asian Games, calling the move 'biased' and 'strange'.&nbsp; In a Twitter live, Dutt came down heavily on the IOA saying its decision has created confusion, stating "Yesterday, the ad-hoc committee issued a letter stating the Asian Games selection trials will be held on July 22 and 23 in all 18 weight categories. But in 53kg and 65kg categories, the panel said the selection has been done even though it didn't disclose the names. It created a big confusion." He argued that the committee had said selections for the squad would be made in accordance with the federation rules but it had not been done.&nbsp;
WFI rules allow the selection committee to pick past winners of Olympic/World Championship medals without trials, but only if that is recommended by the chief coach/foreign expert.
"I have spoken to Jagminder and women's national coach, who said they were against exemption from trials. Till chief coach or national coaches agrees, the selection is not complete. It was wrong decision not to take them into confidence," Yogeshwar said. The Asian Games and Commonwealth Games gold medallist questioned, 'Have you taken fitness test of those two selected? If you have to send team this way, you should have selected the whole team. Why have you given exemption in only these two weight categories?' Urging IOA chief PT Usha to reconsider the decision, Dutt said, "There is no transparency in the decision, please take a call and save wrestling."

Dutt also revealed that Vinesh got a new placing in Railways and wondered how the government was agreeing to every demand of hers and called it the real harassment.

The verbal spat between Vinesh Phogat and BJP politician and former wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt continued as the 40-year-old went on a social media live after the top Indian wrestler called him Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's lackey in a lengthy Twitter post.

Dutt who was one of the six members of the oversight panel said, 'If I have stopped any girl, she can come forward, her parents can come forward. She is saying that I offered them help of any kind but actually, I can't get anyone selected in the team, nor can I get someone inducted in the national camp. I don't have that power'
Dutt went on to claim that it was Vinesh, who was involved in corruption as she got a member from husband's family Rs 25 lakh as prize money from the Haryana government when the money should have been given to her actual coach and her uncle Mahavir Phogat. 'Everyone knows that your coach is your uncle Mahabir Phogat but you declared that your coach is Om Prakash and the entire prize money of Rs 25-30 lakh you got from the Haryana government, you gave it to him. He is not your coach, why you gave him the money? Let me share. Because he is a maternal uncle (mama) of your husband. You left your own uncle'
In his live, he also responded to Vinesh's Wrestling Federation of India chief's lackey, Dutt said he was hardly in touch with anyone in the Federation and it was Vinesh who got several favours from the sports body.
'After 2016, I have hardly gone to the Federation office. I did not travel as a coach and I am not even the state body of Haryana and not part of WFI. I contested two elections, and Brij Bhushan did not campaign for me. If I were close, he would have come. When he contested the election, I did not campaign for him.' He revealed how Vinesh got her things done from WFI.
'Now I will share who actually had goodwill with the Federation. In 2017, you were selected for the 48kg Indoor Asian Games without trial. You wanted to play in 53kg, and it was accepted. Then you chose not to compete'
'The wrestler who was shifted to 48 from 53, did not get a medal because of a weight cut. Despite this, WFI did not penalise you. In 2018, you competed in the Asian Games without giving trials. You put WFI under pressure. They agreed because you were a good wrestler. You were a medal hopeful. So, who is closer to Federation, you are I?' he counter-questioned.
On being called 'Jaichand' (historically remembered for conspiring with Muhammad of Ghor to defeat Prithviraj Chauhan), Dutt shot back by saying, 'Entire country knows who is Jaichand and who is Bhagat Singh. No one needs your certificate. Entire Haryana state knows you, and all of you'&nbsp; Dutt also revealed that Vinesh got a new placing in Railways and wondered how the government was agreeing to every demand of hers. 'In RSPB, you got a world cadet medallist and Dhyanchand awardee transferred and took his place. What kind of protest it was, that you are getting everything you want? Where is that fight which you had initiated? He went on to remark, 'The real harassment has begun now. The junior wrestlers are being harassed' He also replied to Vinesh's election remark, where she said 'you have fallen on your face twice in the elections' Dutt said if losing an election makes him bad, then Brij Bhushan has won six elections so he must be a good man.&nbsp;

Former Indian wrestler and BJP politician Yogeshwar Dutt has slammed the Indian Olympic Association ad-hoc panel for making an exception for the protesting wrestlers in the trials of the Asian Games and World Championship.&nbsp; Dutt took to his Twitter to post a video and called out the protesting wrestlers and the panel for making it a one-bout trial for just the 6 protesting wrestlers.&nbsp; Dutt first questioned the criteria used by the ad-hoc panel to take such a step and went on to criticise the panel for meting out unfair treatment to other wrestlers.&nbsp; 'Why has the panel allowed all 6 wrestlers to take the one-bout trial when they have not been playing for nearly a year now', he asked.&nbsp; He said, 'why other wrestlers like Ravi Dahiya, Anshu Malik, Deepak Punia, and Sonam Malik were not given this opportunity?' Calling it an utterly wrong move, Dutt went on to say that not even the previous officials who are being accused have taken such a biased decision that the IOA-appointed ad-hoc panel has taken without considering any rules or without making any criteria. He also urged all the other wrestlers who are facing unjust behaviour to come out and raise their voices against the ad-hoc panel. 'I am not saying to go out on the streets and protest, please work hard but please also raise your voice with the help of media, please write letters to the prime minister, home minister sports minister Anurag Thakur and IOA and bring fore the unjust decision of the ad-hoc panel' He went on to call it a black day for Indian wrestling and admitted that though such decisions have been taken in the past for selected wrestlers, he said such liberties were only given to the outstanding players and to players who had performed well in recent games, 'These wrestlers are away from the mat for nearly a year, maybe more than a year', he added. He also called on the Khap panchayats and farmers who are supporting the wrestlers in their protest against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Since they have actively participated in the protest, he requested them to analyse such ad-hoc panel decisions as well.&nbsp; He also questioned the reason behind the protests, 'The protest happened to get justice in the case of sexual assault or for availing this benefit?'
The six wrestlers, Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Sangeeta Phogat, Satywart Kadian and Jitender Kinha who have been at the forefront of the wrestlers' protest against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh have been given an exemption from appearing in the initial trials. They have also been promised that they will compete against the winners of the trials of their particular weight category between August 5 and 15.
The wrestlers had requested the Sports Ministry to allow them to appear in the Asian Games trials in August because they are under-prepared for the competition due to their long-drawn protest.
Elite wrestlers like Bajrang and Vinesh have been given exemptions by WFI from full trials in the past to protect them from injuries but Sangeeta Phogat, Satyawart Kadian and Jitender Kinha are being considered for such a favour for the first time.

The clamour over Yogeshwar Dutt's presence in the Oversight Committee grew after his coach Ramphal Mann allegedly revealed confidential details about the ongoing probe during a sting operation by a news channel.&nbsp; Bajrang Punia, who was one of the wrestlers protesting against the WFI president Brij Bhushan at the Jantar Mantar last month has once again slammed the 40-year-old Olympic Bronze medallist's participation in the committee.&nbsp; Demanding a resignation from Dutt, Punia told the Indian Express, 'He has no moral right to remain in the committee as he does not believe in confidentiality. This is a sensitive matter related to women wrestlers, and each one of them has shown the courage to come forward and talk. But instead of trying to understand the sensitive nature of the issue, Yogeshwar seems to be keen to belittle them. We have lost trust in him because he won't be on the side of justice and will not view things objectively'&nbsp;

Veteran boxer Mary Kom will head the five-member panel, which also includes London Olympics Bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt, former shuttler Trupti Murgunder, TOPS former CEO Rajesh Rajagopalan and former SAI teams division Radhica Shreeman.&nbsp;
