Yoga and breathing exercises can have a positive effect on children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), find researchers from&nbsp;Ural Federal University in a new study.
Children who attended special yoga classes showed improvement in attention, decreased hyperactivity, and seemed to not get tired easily and could engage in complex activities for longer.
Publishing in the journal 'Biological Psychiatry,' scientists revealed that they used a special breathing exercise based on the development of the diaphragmatic rhythmic deep breathing, called belly breathing as well as body-oriented exercises that focused on "tension-relaxation."
ADHD is a disorder associated with impaired development of the child's nervous system.
The study found that better breathing&nbsp;allows for a better supply of oxygen to the brain, which, in turn, has a beneficial effect on the behaviour and psyche of a child with ADHD.&nbsp;

Yoga has now become the way I start my day. It gives me a fresh start to the day and clears my mind. It makes me feel centred and calms my mind. &nbsp;

Yoga will calm you down and energise you for the entire day and really does energise me for the entire day. Yoga is a great way for me to stay in shape and is great for my mind and body.&nbsp;

Keep an open mind because yoga doesn&rsquo;t fit in any preconceived notions and in case you need any extra motivation, then find a friend to do it with.&nbsp;

Firstly, I hold myself accountable by telling everyone and secondly, I enjoy finding a friend to do Yoga with.&nbsp;

So, my teacher is wonderful and she tells me what speed to go at and how to correctly do certain postures to avoid any injury and I just follow her instructions.&nbsp;
