By 2027, a quarter of jobs will have changed, according to the World Economic Forum

World Economic Forum's Future of Occupations Report 2023 suggests that about a quarter of all occupations worldwide will 'change' during the next five years, with 69 million new positions projected to be created and 83 million lost

The global shift in vocations will continue to be relentless in the next five years, with a downward trend in net job creation, just as the once-in-a-century pandemic and automation created a 'double-destruction scenario' for workers at the beginning of the current decade, as per World Economic Forum report.&nbsp;
As per the World Economic Forum's Future of occupations Report 2023, about a quarter of all occupations worldwide will 'change' during the next five years, with 69 million new positions projected to be created and 83 million lost.
According to the analysis, which relied on a survey of 803 organisations, while the green transition and localization of supply chains will drive job creation in the years 2023&ndash;2027, the labour market turbulence brought on by technology and improved digital access will actually be 'a net positive in jobs gained.'
This suggests that, in contrast to popular belief, causes other than technology will be responsible for the immediate employment losses.
With an estimated two million new digitally enabled roles, digital commerce will have the highest absolute gains in employment across all industries. Agriculture and education will both have significant absolute job growth.
With 22% of jobs predicted to change in India, compared to the global average of 23%, the country's job churn is assessed to be roughly in line with the global trend.
"The good news is that there is a clear way forward to ensure resilience," WEF managing director Saadia Zahidi said. The education, reskilling, and social support systems that can guarantee that people are at the centre of the future of work must be supported by investments from both governments and corporations.

Speaking at a rally, Shinde said that many prominent people across the world are fans of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "I met the PM of Luxembourg. He said he is a 'bhakt' (devotee) of PM Modi. He had a photograph taken with me, and asked me to show it to PM Modi," the CM said.
"I met some people from Germany, and some prominent people from Saudi Arabia. They asked me whether I am with PM Modi. I told them that I am PM Modi's man," he added.

The FBI chief said that China can use its AI advancements for greater hacking, intellectual property theft, and repression of dissidents.

The chief of USA's premier probe agency on 19 January 2023 expressed "deep concern" about the Chinese government's artificial intelligence programme.
Christopher Wray, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said that Beijing's AI programme was "not constrained by rule of law". He added that it was "built on top of massive troves of intellectual property and sensitive data that they've stolen over the years".
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the FBI chief said that China can use its AI advancements for greater hacking, intellectual property theft, and repression of dissidents.
More broadly, he said, "AI is a classic example of a technology where I have the same reaction every time. I think, Wow, We can do that?' And then I think, Oh god, they can do that.'"
Such concerns have long been voiced by US officials. In October 2021, for instance, US counterintelligence officials issued warnings about China's ambitions in AI as part of a renewed effort to inform business executives, academics and local and state government officials about the risks of accepting Chinese investment or expertise in key industries.

With jobs improving and inflation easing, India will continue to remain a bright spot in the global scenario, says Niti Aayog CEO at the World Economic Forum in Davos.&nbsp;

At the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, Parameswaran Iyer, Niti Aayog CEO, tells Moneycontrol that India will continue to show resilience in the face of global headwinds.&nbsp; This, especially in light of the structural reforms such as GST, production-linked-incentives that have been undertaken.&nbsp;
Iyer says that he is confident India will remain a bright spot with the jobs scenario improving and inflation easing, however, warns, 'we need to be careful and cautiously optimistic'.&nbsp;
He went on to add that "India is open for businesses on a numbers of counts. In terms of our growth trajectory, our strong manufacturing and export performance, our incentivisation like the PLI scheme. So overall, India is one of the strongest foreign direct investment (FDI) destinations." Commenting on the upcoming union budget, the Niti Aayog CEO said that budget 2023 will push growth further, create jobs and that MSMEs as well as the agriculture sectors would be a prime focus.&nbsp;

A large Indian contingent invited investment at Davos, as the WEF&nbsp;reflected a changing international order, with the Ukraine war, climate change, and global inflation at the top of the agenda.

The war in Ukraine, climate change, and global inflation topped the agenda at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, as political and business leaders converged to discuss global issues.
The first in-person event since the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, the World Economic Forum now reflects a changing world. Organisers asked those attending to take the train instead of travelling in an attempt to cut down on the event&rsquo;s carbon footprint, although how many took that advice is anyone&rsquo;s guess.
A large Indian contingent was in attendance at Davos, from Union Ministers to executives and leaders of India&rsquo;s biggest firms, who participated in a number of sessions at the forum. According to Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, a record high 200 people from India attended the WEF this year.

India&rsquo;s large turnout was accompanied by &lsquo;The India Lounge&rsquo;, set up in a street in Davos, serving up local delicacies, and inviting foreign investment at the same time. Several states, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, set up their own individual camps as well. &lsquo;Come, invest in India&rsquo;, seemed to be the message.
India recently reported its highest ever foreign direct investment inflow, with $83.57 billion invested in 2021-22. Indian states are trying hard to increase this number at Davos, with Maharashtra signing over $10 billion in investment intentions with 24 companies, and Telangana signing renewables investment pacts worth a total of around $16 billion.
The World Economic Forum reflected the tumultuous state of global affairs, with the war in Ukraine featuring heavily throughout sessions. Russian business and political leaders haven't been invited to the gathering this year, and the former Russia House has been converted to an exhibition covering alleged warcrimes committed by the country. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the forum, and asked business leaders to exit Russia.

Asserting that India is making its policies today while focussing on requirements for not just the present but also for the next 25 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said this period of growth would be 'green and clean' as well as 'sustainable and reliable'.
In a special address at the World Economic Forum's online Davos Agenda 2022 summit, Modi said India has set goals of high growth as well as saturation of welfare and wellness for the next 25 years.
He also said India is fighting another COVID-19 wave with full alertness and caution while also maintaining economic growth.
Modi said India is focused on reforms in the right direction and the global economic experts have praised India's decisions.
"We will fulfil all the expectations that the entire world has from us," he said.

The global pay difference between men and women will take 202 years to close, according to a World Economic Forum report. The pace of change is slow and the number of women in the professional space has fallen. Globally, women are paid just 63% of what men earn. The largest gap is seen in Yemen, Syria and Iraq. There isn't a single country where women are paid equal to men. However, Laos, in southeast Asia, was the closest to achieving equality.
