Veteran Bollywood actress Waheeda Rehman was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for lifetime achievement on October 17.&nbsp;
She became emotional as she made her way to the stage to receive the award.&nbsp; The actor has been honoured by the government for her exceptional contribution to the advancement and enrichment of Indian cinema.
She dedicated the award to the entire film industry and said that an actor is nothing without the support of all the departments of filmmaking including directors, makeup artists, music composers and others.&nbsp; News 18 quoted the actor as saying, &ldquo;I feel very honoured, very humbled and it is all because of my beloved industry.
She added, "Luckily, I received immense support from excellent producers, directors, filmmakers, technicians, dialogue writers, music directors and composers &ndash; everyone stood by me. They gave me respect and love. And finally, the contribution of makeup artists, hairstylists and costume designers cannot be ignored. That&rsquo;s why I want to share this award with all the departments of my dear film industry. No single person can make an entire film; we all need each other.&rdquo;&nbsp; &nbsp;

Veteran actor Waheeda Rehman, who will be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award, is happy that people ultimately recognised her work. Speaking with India Today, Waheeda said that she's happy and feels you get your regards when you work with dedication and honesty. She dedicated the award to her colleagues and the film industry. 'Whoever I am today is because of them,' she said.
'I am so happy that people ultimately recognised my work. I feel one should keep working with dedication and honesty, then you do get your regards,' she told India Today.
'I want to dedicate this award to all my colleagues, my film industry, everybody from every department. This is for them. In movies, you don&rsquo;t do it alone. Even the greatest director needs his cast to convey his ideas,' she added.
Waheeda Rehman is known for her work in films like Pyaasa, Kaagaz ke Phool, Chaudhavi Ka Chand, Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam, Guide and Khamoshi among others.
The news was announced by Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur, who took to X (formerly Twitter), and praised Waheeda Rehman&rsquo;s contributions to cinema. He also said that the actor has exemplified &lsquo;dedication, commitment and the strength of a Bharatiya Nari&rsquo;.

Bollywood legend Waheeda Rehman will receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award this year for her stellar contribution to Indian Cinema. The news was shared by Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur.&nbsp;
In a tweet, Anurag Thakur wrote, &lsquo;I feel an immense sense of happiness and honour in announcing that Waheeda Rehman ji is being bestowed with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award this year for her stellar contribution to Indian Cinema.&rsquo;
&lsquo;Waheeda ji has been critically acclaimed for her roles in Hindi films, prominent among them, Pyaasa, Kaagaz ke Phool, Chaudhavi Ka Chand, Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam, Guide, Khamoshi and several others. In her career spanning over 5 decades, she has essayed her roles with extreme finesse, leading to a National Film Award for her role as a clanswoman in the film Reshma and Shera. A Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee, Waheeda ji has exemplified dedication, commitment and the strength of a Bharatiya Nari who can achieve the highest level of professional excellence with her hardwork,&rsquo; he continued.

Many celebrities marked their attendance to celebrate Dilip Kumar&rsquo;s 100th birth anniversary. Waheeda Rehman, Asha Parekh, Divya Dutta, Shabana Azmi, and Ramesh Sippy were among the others present at the event.&nbsp;
The film festival has been organized by the Film Heritage Foundation. In the two days, Dilip Kumar&rsquo;s critically acclaimed movies, including Aan (1952), Devdas (1955), Ram Aur Shyam (1967), and Shakti (1982), will be screened in over 30 cinema halls and 20 cities across the country.&nbsp;
Earlier, talking about the same Saira Banu told news agency PTI, &lsquo;They could not have chosen a more apt title to commemorate India&rsquo;s greatest actor &mdash; &lsquo;Dilip Kumar Hero Of Heroes&rsquo;. He was my favourite hero from the time I was 12 years old when I first saw him in &lsquo;Aan&rsquo; in technicolor. PDP leader Waheed Parra has perhaps become the first person to benefit from the Supreme Court putting on hold trial of cases under sedition law as the High Court for Jammum Kashmir and Ladakh granted him bail in an alleged militant conspiracy case filed by the NIA. The division bench listed the apex court ruling as one of the mitigating factors while allowing Para's appeal for bail. The HC noted that regarding the sedition charges, the issue is governed by the recent judgment of the Supreme Court whereby the apex court has directed that all the pending trials, appeals and proceedings with respect to the charge framed under Sedition law shall be kept in abeyance. While granting bail to Para against a surety of Rs 1 lakh, the court directed Para to present himself before the investigating officer as and when required to, surrender his passport to the investigating officer of the case and not leave Jammu and Kashmir without the prior permission of the trial court.
