A pregnant woman fell at a railway station in Maharashtra's&nbsp;Thane while trying to alight from a moving train, but was saved from slipping into the gap between the train and the platform by an alert RPF jawan, an official said on Tuesday.
The incident took place at Kalyan railway station on Monday, he said.
The woman along with her husband and son apparently boarded a wrong long-distance train.
Later, as the train started moving, the woman tried to de-board, but in the process, she fell on the platform.
An RPF jawan immediately rushed there and saved the woman from slipping into the gap between the moving train and the platform, the official said.
The other people present on the platform lauded the jawan for his courage and presence of mind.
Later, Central Railway's chief public relations officer Shivaji Sutar in a tweet said, "Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff Shri S R Khandekar saved the life of a pregnant woman who had slipped while attempting to de-board a moving train at Kalyan railway station today." "Railway appeals to passengers not to board or de-board a running train," he added.

A woman in Andhra Pradesh has been arrested for assaulting her&nbsp;two-year-old son after a video of the incident&nbsp;went viral.&nbsp;&nbsp;22-year-old Thulasi, who is from&nbsp;Chitoor, was picked up by the police from her mother&rsquo;s residence.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Days ago, Thulasi&rsquo;s husband had registered a complaint against her in which he said that the couple had a difference of opinion after which he dropped his wife at her mother&rsquo;s home around 40 days ago.&nbsp;On August 28, he chanced upon videos in Thulasi&rsquo;s phone in which she was seen mercilessly beating up their child and he noticed bruises on the body of the child.&nbsp;A video of the assault had gone viral, after which netizens and child welfare activists demanded immediate police action over the incident.&nbsp;Following her arrest, Thulasi was taken for psychiatric consultation.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A woman in Andhra Pradesh has been arrested for assaulting her&nbsp;two-year-old son after a video of the incident&nbsp;went viral.&nbsp;&nbsp; 22-year-old Thulasi, who is from&nbsp;Chittoor, was picked up by the police from her mother&rsquo;s residence.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Days ago, Thulasi&rsquo;s husband had registered a complaint against her in which he said that the couple had a difference of opinion after which he dropped his wife at her mother&rsquo;s home around 40 days ago.&nbsp; On August 28, he chanced upon videos in Thulasi&rsquo;s phone in which she was seen mercilessly beating up their child and he noticed bruises on the body of the child.&nbsp;
A video of the assault had gone viral, after which netizens and child welfare activists demanded immediate police action over the incident.&nbsp;
Following her arrest, Thulasi was taken for psychiatric consultation.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The tribal, identified as Kanhaiyalal Bheel, died during treatment at the Neemuch district hospital on Friday. The incident occurred on Thursday morning after a minor road accident involving the victim and a milkman who was riding a motorcycle.
According to reports, the milkman called his friends after a little skirmish with Bheel. They then beat him up and then tied him to a truck. The video of the heinous incident is being circulated on social media.
All the eight accused have been charged with murder and under the SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Act, police said.
