Parents often believe playing video games make children dull and affect their intelligence. However, according to a study published in the Journal of Media Psychology, &nbsp;playing video games does not affect children's cognitive skills.
Children who participated in the research played video games for 2.5 hours and some played for 4.5 hours daily. For research, the performance of the cognitive ability test of children playing video games was checked and it was revealed that the time of playing video games and the type of video games had no direct effect on cognitive performance.
Besides this, the study also revealed that the games children play to increase healthy cognitive skills do not help much in increasing their skills.

Research suggests video game players have enhanced brain activity and superior decision-making skills.&nbsp;

Do you love playing video games? Well, we've some good news for you. According to a new research, video games improve decision-making skills and even have a positive effect on the region of the brain that takes care of this function.
Published in the journal Neuroimage, the research project involved 47 participants, with 28 categorised as regular video game players and 19 as non-players. &nbsp;During the study, the brain activity of participants was monitored while they played a simple test game.
As per the findings, people who play video games are quick and more accurate with their responses. Researchers also noted that video games could be a useful tool for training in perceptual decision-making.&nbsp;
