According to a Time of India report, the breeders are resorting to this after a viral disease &lsquo;Ranikhet&rsquo; has left roosters weak for the fights.
As part of the competition, the roosters are made to fight to death with people placing bets ranging in crores of rupees.
Experts have expressed concerns over the use of the drugs saying they could harm the birds in the long run but also lead to harmful mutations in humans.

For the study, the team examined 70,000 adult men aged 50. They looked at participants&rsquo; medical records to check who had taken the drug and whether or not they have suffered heart problems during&nbsp; the follow- up period.&nbsp;
The findings suggested that men who used erectile dysfunction drugs are less likely to suffer from heart diseases.

Alzheimer&rsquo;s disease is the most common form of age-related dementia, affecting hundreds of millions of people worldwide and there is currently no effective treatment.
For the research, experts analysed data from more than 7 million people and used computer modelling to look for drugs that might target areas in dementia.
After six years of follow-up, the team found that men on Viagra had a substantially lower risk of Alzheimer&rsquo;s disease compared to non-users. They also observed that the drug increased brain cell growth. The correlation was consistent even for those with hypertension and diabetes, researchers concluded.&nbsp;
