Meta confirmed the contribution, which is designated for the expenses related to the presidential inauguration.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has been working to repair ties with Trump. Although Zuckerberg did not publicly endorse a candidate in the 2024 election, he took steps toward reconciliation, including a Thanksgiving Eve dinner with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
This follows a period of tension, especially after Trump&rsquo;s removal from Facebook and Instagram in 2021 for his praise of those involved in the Capitol riots.

President Joe Biden sought to calm a divided nation after his rival Donald Trump survived an assassination bid, saying in a rare Oval Office address Sunday it was time to lower the temperature of America's hostile politics.
"You know, the political record in this country has gotten very heated. It's time to cool it down," Biden said in the televised speech, just the third he has given from behind the historic Resolute Desk during his presidency.
As the country reeled from images of a bloodied Trump waving his fist after a gunman opened fire at a rally in Pennsylvania, Biden added that US politics "must never be a literal battlefield, a, God forbid, a killing field."
The 81-year-old Democrat said that both sides had a responsibility to ease the situation ahead of a deeply polarized election that would now be a "time of testing" for the United States.
The short but forceful speech went without any major hitches -- bar Biden twice referring to the ballot box as a "battle box" -- with the ageing president under close scrutiny following a disastrous debate performance against Trump recently.
Investigators said that they were still probing the motives of 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was shot dead by snipers at the event in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday after firing multiple shots with a legally-bought semi-automatic rifle.
Former president Trump said on social media Sunday that Americans should not allow "evil to win," adding it was "more important than ever that we stand United."
The 78-year-old Republican later added on social media that it was "God alone" who had saved him. Trump's wife Melania called the shooter a "monster."
<h3>Security questions&nbsp;</h3>
Trump was hit in the ear and left with a bloodied face by the attack, which also killed a bystander while two other people were wounded, but he managed to raise a defiant fist to the crowd as Secret Service agents bundled him away.
He landed later Sunday in Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention, where he will be anointed as the party's presidential nominee, with supporters believing the attack will swing voters behind him in November.
The US Secret Service insisted the agency is "fully prepared" to maintain security at the huge Republican gathering, and that it was not changing its protocols even after the attempt to kill Trump.
But the agency faces searching questions about how the shooter was able to climb onto a rooftop around 150 meters (500 feet) from where Trump was speaking and fire multiple rounds.
Biden said earlier that he had a "short but good conversation" after the attack with Trump.
Investigators are now trying to figure out what drove the shooter, with the FBI saying it believed that Crooks acted alone and had no known ideology.
"We are investigating this as an assassination attempt, but also looking at it as a potential domestic terrorism act," Robert Wells, assistant director of the FBI counterterrorism division, told reporters.
The FBI said the AR-style 556 rifle was believed to have been bought by the shooter's father, but do not yet know how he accessed the weapon or whether he took it without his father's knowledge.
Investigators also found a "suspicious device" in the shooter's car.
<h3>'Bullied'</h3>
Crooks' former schoolmates described him as a quiet student who often came across as lonely.
"He was quiet but he was just bullied. He was bullied so much," Jason Kohler, who said he attended the same high school as Crooks, told reporters.
Biden meanwhile praised the bystander who was killed, named as firefighter Corey Comperatore, saying he "was protecting his family from the bullets."
The attempt on Trump's life sent shock waves around the world, but the effects on a tight US presidential race in a deeply divided country are uncertain.
US politics have become increasingly hostile, with Trump building his image around inflammatory verbal assaults, and many Democrats expressing fury and disgust at Trump's rise.

Republican former UN ambassador Nikki Haley suspended her White House campaign Wednesday, declining to endorse former president Donald Trump but calling on him to earn the support of moderates and independents who backed her in the primary.
"It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him, and I hope he does that," Haley said in a televised address in Charleston, South Carolina.
Haley was in a two-person contest with Trump for the chance to face President Joe Biden in November's election but won just one state on "Super Tuesday" and never presented a serious obstacle in Trump's path to the nomination.
The 52-year-old was little known outside her native South Carolina before Trump tapped her as ambassador to the United Nations back in 2017 and used the high-profile UN post to cultivate an image as a plain-speaking conservative.
She prided herself on being the last challenger standing between the "chaos" of Trump and the 2024 Republican White House nomination.
"I am filled with the gratitude for the outpouring of support we've received from all across our great country," Haley added.
"But the time has now come to suspend my campaign. I said I wanted Americans to have their voices heard -- I have done that. I have no regrets."

Entrepreneur-turned-politician and Democrat Shri Thanedar became the fifth Indian-American to be elected to the US House of Representatives, and the first from the state of Michigan, pipping Republican candidate Martell Bivings.
Thanedar, 67, currently represents the third district in the Michigan House.
He won 84,096 votes, while Bivings received more than 27,366 votes.
He defeated a crowded field of Democrats running for the open seat, including state Rep. Adam Hollier, Portia Roberson, John Conyers III and Sherry Gay-Dagnogo.
He thus becomes the fifth Indian-American to be elected to the US House of Representatives.
The other four being Dr Ami Bera, Raja Krishnamoorthi, Ro Khanna and Pramila Jayapal, all of whom are expected to be re-elected for the next Congress.
In 2018, he made an unsuccessful bid for Michigan's governor position.
Thanedar's win is inspirational, as it represents a quintessential rags-to-riches story, having arrived in the US in the 70s with just USD 20.
After losing his father, Thanedar worked as a janitor to support his studies and family, before working as a scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai, India.
A proud Maharashtrian, Thanedar grew up in Belgaum in Karnataka.
He came to the US in hopes of becoming a successful businessman and now wants to serve the community he lives with.

&ldquo;This country that I immigrated to has given me so much, and I felt that I cannot continue accumulating wealth. It is time for me to give up my business and enter public service so I can give back,&rdquo; he added.
Responding to a question on India-US relationship, Thanedar said America needs to have a strong relationship with other democratic countries.
&ldquo;We need to protect our democracy across the world, whether it is India, or whether it is Israel,&rdquo; he said.
Israel is also an ally of the US and that democracy is surrounded by a lot of adverse countries.
&ldquo;We need to protect democratic Israel, we need to protect democratic India, and we need to ensure that human rights are respected all across the world. And that will be my focus in terms of foreign relations,&rdquo; he added.
Thanedar has not been to India since the Covid-19 outbreak.
He has also written a book in Marathi, which has been a bestseller.

Polling stations opened in New York, New Jersey and Virginia early Tuesday marking the start of US Election Day. Nearly 100 million Americans had already cast ballots by Tuesday. A divisive US election campaign will finally be concluded today. Republican President Donald Trump seeks to overcome Democratic rival Joe Biden's lead in opinion polls to win another four year term. The results of one of the most bitterly fought elections in US history will start trickling in from late Tuesday evening, most likely after 8pm Eastern Standard Time. The result will pronounce the judgment of the Americans on Trump and his rather brash presidency.

Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden has urged the Americans to vote out President Donald Trump of the presidency, alleging he has divided and failed the nation in the last four years.
Biden said he was quite confident this time that Americans would vote Trump out of power.
Trump, a Republican, is being challenged by Biden in the November 3 elections.

Speaking in Goodyear, Arizona, Trump slammed Biden as "the worst candidate ever to run in the history of a presidential election." Trump slamming Biden saying his opponent as someone who is "campaigning on the fact that he is going to raise your taxes," which led to the crowd chanting, "Lock him up." Trump added, voting Biden is like giving up on the "wonderful life."

Anumita Roy Chowdhury, Executive Director, Research And Advocacy, Centre For Science And Environment, says that two statements are true here - one, India has a big struggle in containing air pollution and two, Donald Trump is in denial of climate change. The new State of Global Air Report 2020 states that since 2010, particulate matter related deaths have gone up by 61% in India. India also records the highest number of infant deaths in the world due to air pollution at 24%. Also, 95% Indians breathe air that is not healthy as defined by the WHO. India is in a state of emergency due to air pollution and we are nowhere close to tackling this problem.
She also says that Donald Trump has in the past few years rolled back significant environmental regulations that are needed to significantly reduce the impact of climate change in USA. Getting out of the Paris Accord and not believing in the multilateralism of global solution and mitigation, that isolationism is not acceptable for a world power. The US Elections are therefore critical not just for the USA, but for the world.
