Police arrested three men for allegedly supplying drugs along the Kanwar Yatra route in Muzaffarnagar. Cash and contraband were seized during the operation.

Police have arrested three people for allegedly supplying drugs along the Kanwar Yatra route here and seized contraband from them, officials said on Monday.
They also seized Rs 19,450 in cash from the trio during the arrest under the Civil Lines area here on Sunday evening, officials said.
Circle Officer Raju Kumar Sab said a case has been registered against Vaibhav, Gulshan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
On Sunday, thousands of kanwariyas (Lord Shiva devotees), heading back from Haridwar in Uttarakhand with Gangajal, were greeted by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with a helicopter showering flowers on them in Muzaffarnagar.
Authorities have implemented tight security measures along the Kanwar Yatra routes. The Yatra concludes on July 23, when the pilgrims will return home after offering the holy water from the Ganges at Shiva temples on their way.
As he welcomed the pilgrims, Adityanath claimed that some people were trying to defame the Kanwar Yatra on social media and urged every 'Kanwar Sangh' to expose such troublemakers.&nbsp;

UP police officer took 'indecent photo' of constable, raped her repeatedly; accused on run

Police said the medical examination of the woman constable will be conducted when she comes to Deoria in the next two-three days.

A police sub-inspector has been suspended in this Uttar Pradesh district for allegedly luring a woman constable to marry him and then raping her repeatedly, a police official said on Wednesday.
Station Officer (SO) of the Gauri Bazar police station Dinesh Mishra said Superintendent of Police (SP) Sankalp Sharma suspended Sub-Inspector Ankit Singh on Monday and efforts are on to nab him.
Citing the case registered against the accused on February 15, the SO said on March 2, 2020, Singh lured the woman constable, who was then posted in Azamgarh, to marry him and got into a physical relationship with her.
He had allegedly clicked an indecent photograph of her. The woman constable has also claimed that Singh had threatened to make the photo viral on social media.
Based on a complaint from the woman constable, a case was registered against the accused under sections 376 (punishment for rape), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
Mishra said the medical examination of the woman constable will be conducted when she comes to Deoria in the next two-three days.
He added that the woman constable and the accused sub-inspector were known to each other.
The SP on Tuesday said the woman constable met him on February 9 and got her complaint lodged, following which the case was registered at the Gauri Bazar police station on February 15.
He added that the mobile phone of the accused is switched off, but he will be arrested soon.

The video of the incident which was reported from Hardoi has triggered outrage over the police-high-handedness.&nbsp;
In the video, the cop- identified as Dinesh assaulted the man by hitting him 38 times in four minutes on his face and all over the body.&nbsp;
As per NDTV, the cop has been suspended after the video surfaced.&nbsp;
Constable Dinesh was in a local market when a drunk man started misbehaving with people. Following which the cop beat him up, NDTV reported, quoting Additional Superintendent of Police West Durgesh Kumar Singh.

Police have registered an FIR in connection with the incident that took place on Wednesday night and have indentified the accused.

The men manhandled the head constable." "An FIR has been registered at Para police station. We have identified the accused and efforts are on to arrest them," he said.

One day after violent clashes erupted across different cities of Uttar Pradesh over the controversial remarks of now-sacked BJP functionaries on Prophet Mohammad, Saharanpur police took action against the accused. 
The police on Saturday reached the residences of two accused along with a team of the local civic body to raze parts of their house claiming illegal constructions. 
The action was taken by a joint team of Saharanpur administration including development authority, magistracy, revenue team, municipal corporation and police on 'illegal properties of accused in yesterday's incident, Saharanpur SSP Akash Tomar told news agency ANI.
He added that 64 people have been arrested and more than 200 identified in connection with the clashes.
Uttar Pradesh police arrested 237 people from various districts in the state in connection with Friday's violence with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warning of "strictest" action against those attempting to vitiate the atmosphere.

'Residential premises of two arrested accused were illegal and without permission. We've taken action with bulldozers. More people are being identified. There will be coordinated action on any illegal properties found. We'll put NSA as well,'&nbsp;Saharanpur SSP Akash Tomar told news agency ANI.
He added that 64 people have been arrested in Saharanpur and more than 200 identified in connection with the clashes.
