The blaze started in the 'garba griha' of the temple while gulal was being thrown during Holi celebrations.&nbsp;

Fourteen priests, including 'sevaks' (assistants), were injured in a fire that broke out in the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on Monday during 'bhasma aarti', an official said.
The blaze took place in the 'garbha griha' (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple at around 5.50 am, Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh said.
"Fourteen priests suffered burn injuries. Some are being treated in the district hospital here, while eight have sought treatment in Indore. A magisterial probe has been ordered. It will be conducted by Zila Panchayat CEO Mrinal Meena and Additional Collector Anukool Jain and a report will be submitted in three days," he said.
"The fire started as 'gulal' (coloured powder used during rituals) fell on the puja thali that contained burning 'kapoor' (camphor). It later spread on the floor and turned into a blaze," he said.
The incident has been captured by CCTV cameras installed in the temple, an official said.
"The fire started after gulal was thrown as part of a ritual on the occasion of Holi. It caused burn injuries to priests, who were rushed to the district hospital," priest Ashish told reporters.
A large number of people, including some VVIPs, were present during the incident in the Nandi Hall in front of the sanctum sanctorum, but no injuries were reported among the devotees, officials said.
In a message on X, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the incident was unfortunate and added he was in constant touch with the district administration.

In a message on social media platform X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "The accident that happened in Mahakal temple of Ujjain is very painful. I wish for the speedy recovery of all the devotees injured in the accident. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is engaged in every possible help to the victims." Talking to reporters in Indore, where eight of the 14 victims are admitted, MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the PM spoke to him over the phone and inquired about the health of those injured.
President Droupadi Murmu also spoke to him about the incident over the phone, Yadav added.&nbsp;

SP Sachin Sharma said that after the incident of a 12-year-old rape survivor walking on the street asking for help came to light, the police gathered all the CCTV footage and based on that interrogated the auto driver Rakesh.&nbsp;
Sharma said that blood stains were found in Rakesh's auto. He added that the auto driver told the police that he was with the 12-year-old on the day of the incident.&nbsp;
'An auto driver was detained and questioned by the police. We found blood stains on the backseat of the auto. During questioning, he told us that he was with the child on the day and time of the incident,' he said.&nbsp;
According to the police, the girl hails from Satna in Madhya Pradesh and a missing complaint for her was filed on September 24. The girl was raped on September 25.&nbsp;
A video of the girl, half-naked and bleeding, asking for help emerged on September 27. According to reports, no one came forward to help her.&nbsp;
Eventually, a priest who found the girl outside his ashram helped her and called the police.

The priest at an ashram in Ujjain who helped a 12-year-old rape survivor has said he found the girl half-naked and bleeding near the gates on Monday morning.&nbsp;
Rahul Sharma told NDTV that he immediately covered the girl and called the police. He said that the girl had swollen eyes.&nbsp;
Sharma said he could not reach police when he dialled 100 so he contacted the Mahakal police station. The police arrived at the ashram in 20 minutes, he added.&nbsp;
The priest said that the scared girl tried to speak to them but they could not understand what she was saying.&nbsp;
The girl, who was referred from Ujjain in critical condition to a government hospital in Indore on Tuesday, is critical but stable after the operation, said an official of the medical education department. Specialist doctors are constantly monitoring her health, the official said.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Wednesday said that a special investigation team has been formed to probe the matter. An auto-driver has been arrested and 3 others have been detained so far.&nbsp;
