The word &lsquo;Ugadi&rsquo; is derived from the Sanskrit words &lsquo;yuga&rsquo; meaning era or age and adi&rsquo; meaning beginning, signifying the beginning of a new age or era.&nbsp;
Ugadi generally falls in the month of April marking the beginning of the Chaitra month according to the Hindu calendar. The festival holds cultural and religious significance and is celebrated with various rituals, traditions, and festive activities. &nbsp;
<h3>Common rituals followed on Ugadi &nbsp;</h3>
Reading of &lsquo;Panchanga&rsquo;: On Ugadi morning, some people follow the traditional ritual of listening to the &lsquo;Panchanga Sravanam&rsquo;, which is the reading of the religious &lsquo;Panchanga&rsquo; for the upcoming year. The &lsquo;Panchanga&rsquo; contains astrological predictions, auspicious timings, and other important information for the year ahead.&nbsp;
