The U.S. is concealing a longstanding program that retrieves and reverse engineers unidentified flying objects, a former Air Force intelligence officer testified Wednesday to Congress. The Pentagon has denied his claims.
Retired Maj. David Grusch's highly anticipated testimony before a House Oversight subcommittee was Congress' latest foray into the world of UAPs &mdash; or &ldquo;unidentified aerial phenomena," which is the official term the U.S. government uses instead of UFOs. While the study of mysterious aircraft or objects often evokes talk of aliens and &ldquo;little green men,&rdquo; Democrats and Republicans in recent years have pushed for more research as a national security matter due to concerns that sightings observed by pilots may be tied to U.S. adversaries
Grusch said he was asked in 2019 by the head of a government task force on UAPs to identify all highly classified programs relating to the task force's mission. At the time, Grusch was detailed to the National Reconnaissance Office, the agency that operates U.S. spy satellites.
Asked whether the U.S. government had information about extraterrestrial life, Grusch said the U.S. likely has been aware of &ldquo;non-human&rdquo; activity since the 1930s.

The mystery of suspected UFOs flying over US soil was cleared by amateur balloon enthusiasts in Illinois, who claimed that one of their pico balloons which contain trackers and solar panels and antenna packages went missing over Alaska on February 11. This was the day, a US fighter jet shot down an unidentified airborne object, India Today reported.

If the reports are true these cheap balloons cost the US 439, 000$ to shoot down each balloon.

There have been 19 incidents of drones or unidentified flying objects (UFOs) flying around Indian airports since 2019, Minister of State for Civil Aviation V K Singh said on Monday.
According to the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the number of cases wherein drones or UFOs were detected around airports across the country were 11 in 2019, he said in his written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha.
There was no incident of drones or UFOs around Indian airports in 2020, he mentioned.
In 2021 and 2022, there were six and two incidents wherein drones or UFOs detected around Indian airports, respectively, he noted.
"Of the above-mentioned cases, two have been reported in border states or Union Territories -- Surat Airport (Gujarat) on February 2, 2021, and Jammu Airport (Jammu and Kashmir) on June 27, 2021," he mentioned.
