Twitter shuts Mumbai and New Delhi office in India

In a move to make Twitter financially stable by late 2023, its CEO Elon Musk has shut two of its three India offices and told its staff to work from home.&nbsp; According to Bloomberg, Twitter, which fired more than 90% of its roughly 200-plus staff in India late last year, closed its offices in the political center New Delhi and financial hub of Mumbai.&nbsp;
The report further said the company continues to operate an office in the southern tech hub of Bengaluru that mostly houses engineers.&nbsp;
Billionaire Chief Executive Officer Musk has fired staff and shut offices around the world as part of an effort to get Twitter financially stable by late 2023.

A war of words ensued between the former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and new boss Elon Musk over renaming of Birdwatch to Community Notes.
Birdwatch is a community-driven feature by Twitter that largely deals with misinformation and adds helpful context to tweets.
Dorsey said Birdwatch is a far better and informative name, as Musk asserted that Twitter would become the most accurate source of information via Community Notes.
The former Twitter CEO reiterated his pitch for Birdwatch underlining that Community Notes was the most boring name ever. Musk retorted that not everything needs to have a bird in name as he made a reference to Angry Birds.
The outburst has emerged amid the social media giant sacking thousands of its employees after Musk took over as the new boss.
Earlier, Dorsey had apologised for the lay-offs taking full reponsibility for employees' situation.
Twitter, however, has reportedly called back some of its sacked employees saying they were asked to leave 'by mistake.'

Jack Dorsey is no longer a board member at Twitter, this marks an end of a 'formal and executive' role for the co-founder with the app he founded in 2006. Dorsey who has been a director since 2007  did not stand for reinstatement as he had declared in November he would be stepping down as he handed over CEO reigns to Parag Agrawal. Dorsey’s exit marks the first time in Twitter’s history that none of its co-founders is working at the company, or sitting on the board.The microblogging site is facing extreme turmoil with a takeover from the world's richest man Elon Musk. Meanwhile Musk backer, Egon Durban, the co-Chief Executive Officer of private equity firm Silver Lake, failed to get enough votes for re-election to the board during the company’s annual shareholder meeting as well.
