The AAP is the biggest challenger to the BJP and that is why it is under attack from all sides, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday during a discussion on the motion of confidence he moved in the Budget session of the assembly.
Speaking on the motion of confidence, Kejriwal asserted that even if the BJP wins this year's Lok Sabha polls, the AAP will "liberate" the country from the saffron party in the 2029 elections.
The Delhi chief minister, who is also the AAP convenor, said his government has a majority in the House but it needed to bring the motion of confidence because the BJP was trying to poach party MLAs and topple his government.
The House later passed the motion of confidence through a voice vote, with 54 of the AAP's 62 MLAs present during the voting.
Kejriwal also asserted that no AAP MLA had defected. Two MLAs are in jail, some are unwell and some others are out of station, he said.
He said several MLAs explained how they were contacted and offered money to switch sides, allegedly by "BJP people".
The chief minister asserted that the BJP thought it could finish the AAP by arresting him.
"You may arrest me but how will you finish Kejriwal's thoughts?" he asked.
The Delhi chief minister alleged that the BJP, through control over the Services department and the bureaucracy, was obstructing the work of his government.
"They claim to be Ram bhakt but they stopped medicines for the poor people in our hospitals. Did Lord Ram ask for stopping medicines for the poor people?" he said.
Keriwal said he has faced attacks in the past, been slapped, got ink thrown on him and now they want to arrest him.

Chief Minister Champai Soren on February 5 moved confidence motion in the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly. Addressing the Assembly, the CM praised his predecessor Hemant Soren and attacked BJP.
"I proudly say that I am part-2 of Hemant Soren. [Hemant Soren worked] in areas like education, farming in the state...He sensed the situation and started a pension scheme," said the CM.
Champai Soren said that BJP tried to destabilise democratically elected government. He added that the saffron party is using central agencies to frame Hemant Soren in false cases.
Former CM Hemant Soren also showed up for the trust vote. He was last week arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with an alleged land scam.

Jharkhand trust vote: ruling alliance MLAs camping in Raipur reach Ranchi

Fearing poaching of its MLAs by the Opposition BJP to topple the government, CM Hemant Soren's JMM-led alliance had shifted the legislators to a luxurious resort in Chhattisgarh's Nava Raipur.

At least 30 MLAs of the ruling JMM-Congress-RJD coalition in Jharkhand, who were camping at a resort near Raipur since August 30, arrived in Ranchi in a chartered aircraft on Sunday afternoon to attend a special session of the assembly, an official said.
"The chartered plane carrying the MLAs has landed at Ranchi airport," the airport official told PTI.
Fearing poaching of its MLAs by the opposition BJP to topple the government, Chief Minister Hemant Soren's Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance had shifted the legislators to a luxurious resort in Chhattisgarh's Nava Raipur.
The chartered aircraft with 30 legislators, and some other leaders of the JMM and Congress on board, took off from the Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur and landed at Birsa Munda Airport here around 6 pm, the official said.
Hemant Soren, against whom Opposition BJP has filed a disqualification petition over an office of profit case, will seek a vote of trust during the special session of the legislative assembly on Monday.

As per a letter sent to the MLAs by the Assembly Secretariat, the Chief Minister has expressed his willingness to move a motion of confidence to prove his majority.&nbsp;
The Opposition BJP has also convened its legislature party&rsquo;s meeting on Sept. 4 to chalk out its strategy in the House, party sources said.&nbsp;
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Alam said, &ldquo;A state of confusion is prevailing in Jharkhand. Our delegation met the Governor [on Thursday] and he assured us to clear the air in a day or two. But nothing has happened till now. Therefore, we will raise our points in the Assembly and prove our majority.&rdquo;&nbsp;

Following a petition by the BJP seeking Mr Soren&rsquo;s disqualification from the Assembly in an office of profit case, the Election Commission (EC) sent its decision to Governor Ramesh Bais on August 25, sparking a political crisis in the State.&nbsp;
Though the EC&rsquo;s decision has not yet been made official, there is a buzz that the poll panel has recommended the Chief Minister&rsquo;s disqualification as an MLA.&nbsp;
The ruling UPA has asserted that disqualification of the CM as an MLA will not affect the government, as the JMM-Congress-RJD coalition enjoys an absolute majority in the 81-member House.&nbsp;
After a meeting with the UPA MLAs on September 1 on the issue, the Governor went to Delhi on Friday, triggering further speculation.&nbsp;
Raj Bhavan sources, however, said it was a &lsquo;personal visit&rsquo; for a medical check-up and he is likely to return to Jharkhand on Sunday.&nbsp;
In a joint statement on August 28, UPA constituents had accused Bais of encouraging political horse-trading by &ldquo;deliberately delaying&rdquo; announcing the decision.&nbsp;
Mr Soren&rsquo;s party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) believes that the BJP may make a serious attempt to poach MLAs from the party and also from the ally Congress in a bid to topple the government in a manner similar to Maharashtra.&nbsp;
To ringfence the legislators in a safe haven, as many as 32 MLAs of the ruling coalition were on August 30 taken to a resort in Raipur, the capital of Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh.&nbsp;
Four of them, however, returned to take part in a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday, in which it was decided that a special session of the Jharkhand Assembly will be convened on September 5.&nbsp;
The JMM, the largest party, has 30 MLAs, the Congress 18 legislators, and the RJD one. The main Opposition BJP has 26 MLAs in the House.&nbsp;
