An inebriated man who wanted to prevent his family members from travelling out of the country on Saturday made a hoax bomb threat call to a Dubai-bound IndiGo flight, only to land in the police net.

A Chennai resident wanted to prevent two of his family members from flying to Dubai and made the threat call to the city police control room.

An inebriated man who wanted to prevent his family members from travelling out of the country on Saturday made a hoax bomb threat to a Dubai-bound IndiGo flight, only to land in the police net.&nbsp;
The Chennai resident wanted to prevent two of his family members from flying to Dubai and made the threat call to the city police control room, prompting the security agencies to launch a full-scale search inside the IndiGo flight that was originally scheduled to depart at 7.20 am on Saturday, airport and police officials said.&nbsp;
Following the threat call, the flight was checked thoroughly but a thorough check was undertaken by the security agencies to ascertain if any explosive items were planted in the flight.&nbsp;

However, no such items were found on the aircraft, with officials and others heaving a sigh of relief.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, the call was traced to a man in the city who wanted to stop his relatives from flying to Dubai and he was promptly picked up by the police.&nbsp;
The flight will proceed towards its destination later in the day, officials added.&nbsp;
Around 180 passengers and crew members of the flight were provided accommodation.&nbsp;

"Wait and Watch. It's show time," warned Hyderabad BJP MLAs in a video message after police detained their colleague T Raja Singh following his repeated threats to not allow stand-up comedian Munawar Farooqi's show in Hyderabad.
The police took Singh's preventive custody after he attempted to go to the venue where Munawar  was to perform. It said the MLA has not been arrested.
Prior to comedian's August 20 show, Singh in a video message threatened that he will set the venue on fire if Faruqui was allowed to perform. 
He said if anything goes wrong KTR government will have to be blamed.
In a video message, Singh asked the police to cancel the show saying peace and harmony should not be disturbed. "If police don't pay heed, should we sit idle," he added. 
Earlier, Singh had protested Faruqi's show in Hyderabad alleging that he insults Hindu Gods.  The comedian's January 9 show was called-off in the city likely reportedly after saffron party's opposition. Though his team had cited rising COVID cases for the cancellation
