Expressing her anger, Rhea Kapoor wrote, 'I won&rsquo;t walk this tightrope of what society is comfortable with me being anymore and for your sake, I hope you don&rsquo;t either. Thank you for coming.&rsquo;

Bhumi Pednekar and Shehnaaz Gill starrer &lsquo;Thank You For Coming&rsquo;, which was released in theatres on October 6, has received mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike. But a section of the audience has expressed their disappointment with the film&rsquo;s subject.
Now, producer Rhea Kapoor has shared her thoughts on misogynistic comments against her and her co-producers by a trade journalist, whom she chose not to name.
She wrote, &lsquo;I&rsquo;ve never read trade websites nor have they ever informed the films I choose to make. However, it has come to my attention that one so-called &lsquo;credible&rsquo; trade journalist has been posting dangerous hate speech against myself and my co-producers. Admitting that he hasn&rsquo;t seen the film, he&rsquo;s angered by our message- Women&rsquo;s rejection of shame. Stating that these stories have no place in &lsquo;Hindi cinema&rsquo;, he spews misogynistic rhetoric and encourages violence against us.&rsquo;
She continued, &lsquo;I was told to pay no attention to the ravings of an obviously unstable individual. So, you can imagine my disappointment when I learn that this person actually has some impact on the way our industry feels. How are we ok with this? Not just ok, we&rsquo;re subscribing to it. Inspite of men like him, I cannot emphasise enough how much it means to me to have this film out there, loved and watched. The intent of this film was clear from the very beginning. To reject shame, reject your past traumas and embrace yourself just as you are. I won&rsquo;t walk this tightrope of what society is comfortable with me being anymore and for your sake, I hope you don&rsquo;t either. Thank you for coming.&rsquo;
&lsquo;Thank You For Coming&rsquo; is a coming-of-age comedy that follows the story of Kanika Kapoor, a single woman in her 30s, and her quest for true love and pleasure.
The film marks the directorial debut of Rhea&rsquo;s husband Karan Boolani. It is written by Radhika Anand and Prashasti Singh. Apart from Bhumi and Shehnaaz, the film also stars Kusha Kapila, Dolly Singh, and Shibani Bedi in pivotal roles.

Producer Ektaa Kapoor made a brief comeback on X on October 9 and reacted to trolls questioning her latest release, &lsquo;Thank You For Coming.&rsquo;
The adult comedy, which stars Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, and Kusha Kapila, is about a single woman in her 30s, and her quest for true love and pleasure.
Ever since the film&rsquo;s release, the makers have been subjected to trolls.
Many have questioned the story and the intention behind the film.
Taking to Twitter, Ektaa wrote, &lsquo;#ThankYouForComimg is a little mad movie made by mad crazy partner Rhea that doesn&rsquo;t smash patriarchy but tickles with feathers under its nose so all the bulls hit gets sneezed out !! There is only mad love for the film or unpalpable anger !!! (sic)&rsquo;
In another post, the producer-filmmaker added, &lsquo;N me with my thrill issues wud want it no other way !!! From being trolled for ruining culture because it &lsquo; promotes &lsquo;self-pleasure ( how that is ruining anything if ur keeping ur hands to yourself) to being applauded by Indian and international press &hellip; (sic).&rsquo;
Ektaa also replied to a few social media users who tagged her for spoiling the mindset of people.
A user wrote, &lsquo;Aap or Karan Johar ne pure india ko bigada&rsquo;, to which she replied and wrote, &lsquo;Hmmmmmm!!!&rsquo;
&lsquo;Thank You For Coming&rsquo; was released in theatres on October 6. It clashed at the box office with Akshay Kumar&rsquo;s &lsquo;Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue&rsquo;.
The film managed to collect Rs 1.06 crore nett on its opening day despite getting fewer screens and having an &lsquo;A&rsquo; certificate. The film&rsquo;s total collection now stands at Rs 4.22 crore nett.
&lsquo;Thank You For Coming&rsquo; has been directed by Karan Boolani, who has taken inspiration from several stand-ups on female sexuality to weave a sex comedy, about women.

The makers of &lsquo;Thank You For Coming&rsquo; unveiled the second track of the movie, titled &lsquo;Desi Wine&rsquo;, on September 22. Featuring Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila and Shibani Bedi, this track is all set to become everyone's favourite song in this upcoming wedding season with a combination of peppy beats and catchy lyrics.

Ektaa R Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor&rsquo;s highly anticipated film &lsquo;Thank You For Coming&rsquo; will have a Gala Premiere at 2023 Toronto International Film Festival on September 15 and 16.
The shows on both days at TIFF, held at Roy Thomson Hall and Royal Alexandra Theatres, have sold out all their tickets and are houseful. Select seats are being held for allotment at the venue, which too is in high demand as audience is eager to watch a chick-flick addressing women&rsquo;s sensuality in a quirky way. &nbsp;
Ahead of the premiere, Ektaa R Kapoor took to social media to share the news. Along with the poster of the movie, she wrote, &lsquo;We're at TIFF, and it's HOUSEFULL!&rsquo;
&lsquo;Thank You For Coming&rsquo; is the only Indian selection this year to have a Gala Premiere at TIFF.

Producer Rhea took to social media and wrote that they are 'crying, screaming and jumping' with excitement.
She wrote, 'Crying and screaming and jumping! We are honoured to unveil our film #ThankYouForComing as an official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival 2023!! See you at our gala premiere! #ThankYouForComingAtTIFF.'
The chick flick is directed by Rhea's husband Karan Boolani. The film also features Anil Kapoor in a special role.'Thank You For Coming' will be released in theatres on October 6.
